Mirtazapine. Current dose 15mg increasing to 30mg.

DH has been taking 15mg of Mirtazapine daily for 9 months to improve his mood and increase his weight.
He is about to request an increase in dose with the GP. He has emphysema and is a very low weight and frail. Aged 81. His mood is low, but he is no longer quite as anxious as he was when it was first prescribed following a nightmare week in hospital.
Has anyone been in the same position of increasing the dose? Any adverse side effects? Any benefits?

I upped my dosage from 30mg to 45mg with no side effects and feel much better with my anxiety and I sleep very well Iā€™m 67

He has now been taking the 30 mg for 2 weeks and is very very tired. We are hoping in another week or 2 that will improve.
No other side effects just very increased tiredness.

I was on it for a short while following a painful divorce. It did make me very tired at first and I always used to warn people to always start it at a weekend. I weaned myself off it very slowly.
