For the support , understanding and sharing of mental health issues. All are Welcome. We treat each other with kindness.

Doodle Sat 14-Jun-25 20:37:00

Sweetpeasue oxymeters measure oxygen levels in blood which should be 94% or more and heart rate which should be between 60 and 100. xx

HowVeryDareYou2 Sat 14-Jun-25 21:15:51

Wyllow3 What a great painting. I love the colours, and I cal also see a type of face, too.

SweetpeaSue It does sound as though your husband may have Angina. Good idea to try an odometer. I got ours from Amazon. Your garden looks beautiful. What very pretty flowers.

Doodle Thinking of you and hope it won't be long before your hands are more comfortable.

Nadateurbe Sorry you're feeling so bad, hope you have better days soon.

ScaredyCat I hadn't realised you were away for 2 weeks. Enjoy it as much as you can.

Had a very good day with Son2 and his family. Just on the way home (45 mins away). Hope everyone has a restful night. x

Sweetpeasue Sat 14-Jun-25 21:34:24

Doodle Thankyou for that info. I've had a fairly good idea that DHs breathlessness was heart related, but you doubt yourself when faced with professional GP. We'll see but thankyou.x
HVDY Sounds like a lovely family day for you. You have such a close family ,it's precious.

Wyllow3 Sat 14-Jun-25 21:46:15

I just really hope that the weather carries on for you, Scaredycat. A nice thoughtful post.

My lovely Dobies plants - superb condition - arrived and out tomorrow as the planter is ready. Well hopefully.

Doodle you are doing all that you possibly can just coming in, its just good that you do smile

Oh my, Sweetpeasue:

"Oxymeter arriving tomorrow through azon * Doodle* 👍❤️"

I so hope this is a little breakthrough that will relieve DH's condition and your natural concerns.

Doc sis is ringing soon as I want to talk over long term stuff (as in when, where, to move, given my changing temperament/needs and ££ limits etc etc

I have found what I felt was a lovely simple U tube for tonight. the Beatles "let it be"

www.youtube.com/watch?v=5AnNkJ_VK9E

Wyllow3 Sat 14-Jun-25 23:48:36

Ooof, tired out as just had long phone call about housing choices I have to make in the future which take account of resources, MH needs, peaceful space with views etc etc. Honed it down in the end to the McCarthy and Stone place I'd looked at 3 years ago before the depression! Same doctors, views, sunny, Juliet balconies. etc.

going to play my recommendation of "let it be" to try and come down as I want to be at the Quaker zoom 10am tomorrow.

xx Hi there Whiff, nice to see you.

Wyllow3 Sun 15-Jun-25 14:22:21

Afternoon all. Was so tired after last nights fab conversation that I'm slumping today (well, relative to my "up" behaviour)

I went to the Quaker Zoom! got into it enough so I focused peacefully in and brought family, Black dogs, and others, "into the light" managed to focus on BD's one by one x

Big steps in the right direction, ie trying to calm and focus not go off on so many tangents. Well mostly...it's clearly a weekly dose I need to take.

wondering where our morning HVDY post was, except recalled you were off for a day out.

Back later.

Returning to the Beatles "let it be" as often as I remember, very calming.

"When I find myself in times of trouble, Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be
And in my hour of darkness she is standing right in front of me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be
Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be
And when the broken hearted people living in the world agree
There will be an answer, let it be
For though they may be parted, there is still a chance that they will see
There will be an answer, let it be
Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be
There will be an answer, let it be
Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be
Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be, be
And when the night is cloudy there is still a light that shines on me
Shinin' until tomorrow, let it be
I wake up to the sound of music, Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be
And let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be
And let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be"

Hi all
SweetPeaSue- you’re,right we’re so glad we have another week as we,ve chilled out more.
Your flower pics were so pretty - you have green fingers.
Hopefully by now the oxymeter will have arrived and the readings will set your mind at rest . If they don’t then you have the figures that are needed. You are such a loving, thoughtful wife and fight like a little tiger for DH - a lovely person too.
Doodle- gosh that was a low heart rate - you must have felt horrendous.
I do hope, this particular Sunday hasn’t been too upsetting for you and your boys. Remembering what a lovely dad he was and times spent together will hopefully bring comfort as well as sadness.
Hope your poor hands haven’t been as bad today and that you were able to get to Church.
No need to apologise for not being able to post- you must rest them after exercises and just trying to do the basic things must wear you out. Thinking of you too.
HVDY- glad you had a good day out. Time spent with family is priceless. The day after we get home we have a get together as our eldest Grandaughter has her 39th Birthday. How did that happen!! Hope I,ll be able to stay awake.
Wyllow- glad the plants arrived
- hope you got them in OK today. Sunday is quite a busy day for you isn’t it.
You did have a lot to talk to your Sis about . You have plenty of time to think about and make future plans so don’t try and do too much all at once. As you say focus peacefully and you,ll be going in the right direction.
I remember your thoughts on moving a few years ago. An apartment would be a good thing especially if it had a balcony to bring the outside in, my friend has a Churchill one and it’s lovely.

Today has been beach heaven- it is so beautiful here with a unique coast line. Must pace myself but once I get near a beach my sensible hat falls off!! I feel guilty to be having this time away when things are so difficult for many of you. But I want to share it with you all.
Take care dear friendsxx

Sweetpeasue Sun 15-Jun-25 16:24:32

Wyllow Feel so full up - reading those words, Let it be.
So glad you got comfort from the zoom Quaker meeting and it brought you calm. Thankyou too for bringing BDs into the light individually, I really appreciate that.

I'm so very scared. DH has used the spray quite a bit ( as per instructions) and it's been obvious to me all along it's his heart ,yet GP wouldn't take notice and Vascular dismissed him- TWICE.

Wish I'd gone in with DH for ECG ,though they mighnt have let me. Nurse had asked him to go to A&E but didn't know till today that she'd meant there and then first. Afterwards she'd said if it gets worse- after DH said he didn't want to be stuck there hrs.

Tested oxygen level - under what should be ( amber and should see Dr) but heart rate still very slow at 56 bpm. That's right arm. Should only be very low heart rate if you're athlete.
Left arm--- flatline- no pulse rate to be seen! This is the arm he has constant pain in - Subclavian Steal - but Vascular dismissed him. Even when a Vascular nurse admitted she couldn't find a pulse.
Hand consultant also said it was Vascular Insufficiency in that left arm because of partly blocked left Subclavian artery.

Calling GP surgery tomorrow to tell GP result of ECG and what nurse has said- hoping for appt as I'd like GP to tell DH to go to A&E - I know DH would then.

At least DH has said he needs appt tomorrow.

Went to garden centre though heart not in it but helped distract us. I'm so wound up and tense. Hope 3 dogs next door don't howl again tonight , it's really winding us up. Takes a lot for me to get angry but I can get angry if DH is upset in his condition.
Do excuse me for my rant- I'm just so worried.

Sweetpeasue Sun 15-Jun-25 16:30:21

Scaredycat Crossed posts.
Please don't feel guilty at all. It does us all good when we hear good things about each other. I'm really pleased you're having such a beautiful holiday.
Once again , a family celebration awaits your return. Still find it hard to believe you have a granddaughter of 39! You just sound so ' young at heart' and it's amazing after things you've been through, truly.
You are kind in your description of me though I know all of us here would fight the same for someone we love.x

Wyllow3 Sun 15-Jun-25 16:40:20

What a lovely happy share, Scaredeycat, thank you for bringing the beach to us. I suppose when I was depressed I might have felt sad I couldn't, but thats not the point - you deserve it and our responses are our responsibility x

OH Sweetpeasue, I'm so glad you have this space to pour it all out. Rant totally excused. I'm of course glad you got the information, but support you in taking quick actions.

Keep taking the readings as long as you think necessary, and it's a good idea to get in touch with the doctor tomorrow to help DH go to A and E.

Just remember the old aviation saying - if you are going to rescue someone, put your own oxygen mask on first, hey? So if you can, use any breathing exercises with wee stretches and music that will bring your tension levels down.

Sweetpeasue Sun 15-Jun-25 17:14:03

Thankyou Wyllow for your understanding.
Oh yes, aviation saying very apt. And yes, I need to bring down stress levels.
I'm really so grateful for this space. x

Doodle Sun 15-Jun-25 18:25:11

Doing well Wyllow nice to hear,
Scaredycat enjoy your beach days
Sweetpeasue hope you get appointment for your Dh.
Ellie Anne thinking of you.
HVDY hope you’ve had a good day.
I’m ok. Been to church. Done jig saw, had a little cry for DH on Father’s Day. Tired now xx

Wyllow3 Sun 15-Jun-25 20:06:46

Warm wave back Doodle. I hope church helped a bit, hugs for your cry.

I had to have a sleep but because I had a big clothes sort (unplanned, got into cant stop mode, tho good sort out (just sad of the clothes I love too small off to charity shop, OTOH lots of memories connecting with when I was last well) so didn't wake up till 7.30pm so will be up late. I always wake with an awful down pang, but come onto chat online which "Brings me into contact".

HowVeryDareYou2 Sun 15-Jun-25 20:14:21

Wyllow3 Glad you have your sister to talk to about medical things. I remember some time ago you considered moving. Give yourself time to weigh up all the pros and cons. Now you're beginning to enjoy your garden, it would be a shame to give it up. It's nice that you're involving in the Quaker zooms again.

ScaredyCat You enjoy your holiday, you deserve it. Hard to believe you've got such a grown-up family as you sound so young!

SweetpeaSue I think you need to speak with someone about your husband and what the nurse said. Please look after yourself, too. The dogs would get on my nerves. Not the fault of the poor things, but very inconsiderate of your neighbours.

Doodle flowers

Son1 and his family came with gifts for DH then we had a couple of drinks at the local pub, sat on the roof garden. Hope everyone has been ok x

Sweetpeasue Sun 15-Jun-25 21:53:05

HVDY Yes exactly, not the dogs fault and hate to hear them when they sound distressed. DH got phone call from son 1 and he said card should arrive tomorrow. Son 2 was at beach with family when I rang him. He'd said they would be coming some time today but I called him to say we'd see him tomorrow.
Doodle Good you managed church. I know how much that means to you. Really sorry for extra distress Fathers Day caused. Hope you can sleep tonight. I wish I knew what to say. There are no words and I know you know that. Just live.x

Sweetpeasue Sun 15-Jun-25 21:54:29

I meant Love, but of course 'live' is appropriate too. X

Wyllow3 Sun 15-Jun-25 23:28:09

Yes HVDY My lovely Doc sis is there for medical help and also long sensible chats on my housing stuff, she understands the particular circumstances, ie bi polar means choosing the right next house move that is more beneficial for both, she has a quick head for money calculations too.

I'm sometimes jealous of her wealth: it means they never have to worry about anything in that way, including being able to help her 4 children and partners out: the jealously never lasts long when I remember how hard she worked in her working life, being a consultant, as well as chair of school governors etc etc (she worked"part time" as a consultant which was 30 hours!)

It sounds like a wonderful Fathers Day was had for you all. a lovely day to relax in the roof garden. Was this a pub roof garden? sounds rather interesting and special.

*Sweetpeasue, the dogs would indeed drive me spare. Other neighbours must feel the same. Is there anyway forward to prevent this? I googled it. It said

"If your neighbor's dog is barking excessively at night, the first step is to communicate with your neighbor. If that doesn't resolve the issue, you can contact your local council or animal control to report the noise nuisance. Documenting the barking incidents, including dates, times, and duration, can be helpful for reporting"

Oh my, I had a shock then had to laugh at myself.

I opened my computer and it had overheated and reverted to the previous operating system. Decided, must contact shop first thing (v frustrated). then I tried to re install the latest operating system. It fussed about having enough memory.
30 mins, lists written.

Then I realised that I had brought th old computer down now my lovely new one

Duh.

Wyllow3 Mon 16-Jun-25 01:47:59

Late music for today

It’s classical, but it’s the way this 14 year old cellist was so totally absorbed in the music …. l look at her and the way she interacts with her instrument and the pianist totally at one with it.

It mean she won the contest over more technically skilled players in the BBC young musicians awards in 2012

www.youtube.com/watch?v=QkZTblmpNds

HowVeryDareYou2 Mon 16-Jun-25 06:39:26

Wyllow3 Yes, roof garden of the pub. It's very pretty. The pub is a real ales place. No fruit machines, tv or Fosters, etc. How funny about your computer grin. What a brilliant young musician there.

SweetpeaSue Nice that your sons remembered.

Up since 5.45 (that furry menace). LG here at 8. Playgroup 2 hours then picnic at Wollaton park. Hope ABB BDers have a decent day x

Wyllow3 Mon 16-Jun-25 12:05:19

What a great place, HVDY. that was an early get up today. Aw, the furry menace is clearly worth it for you. Enjoy LittleGirl. Nice plans for the day I really do need to gradually work up to seeing my own lovely family.

I hope Sweetpeasue has managed to set things in train.

As for me, although I woke up late thankfully I feel pretty brain mushy, keep spelling and forget words and names.

Just this morning have sorted:
*Electric appointment for at last getting lights working in half the kitchen - I left it 2 years, and its a lady electrician she sounded os nice and knows other women tradespeople.

*Ear sorting with Boots (used to have hearing aids, stopped wearing them) and got a proper audiologist free - having lots of ear problems so hope I don't need to go to ENT long wait

*A treat facial appointment for advice on face care matters, it turned out to be the lady have known so long, so it will be natter as well. when I go next Monday its at the gym, so will nervously be dipping my toes in the water.

*Milk delivery change (got snagged up in techie stuff logging in……).

Today I need food and have some clothes waiting for me at Sainsbugs as well as maybe an eye appointment as they have a Specsavers there so must heave ho soon. Just its my month meds call from the surgery, its complicated so dont like to do it while shopping!

take care all, back later.

Sweetpeasue Mon 16-Jun-25 14:35:52

HVDY Oh that was such an early start- naughty Jaffa.
Sounds like a really busy day for you though a lovely time with Littlegirl. She must love her days with you.
Yes, not dogs fault.
Wyllow You've a busy day too- making up for lost time and getting home things sorted and health things. Will need good to get the hearing issue seen to as that will affect communication so much.
I think it's good you will have your regular 'Gym lady', I remember you got on with her well. It'll be good to have that catch - up and testing the waters by going into your old familiar place.
Hope your meds call goes OK.
Thanks , info about dogs nuisance. I will have to have a word myself with neighbour if continues.

Have GP appt at 3 this afternoon.
Just bought Air- Fryer - now will need to read how to use it.
Hope all BDs OK.

HowVeryDareYou2 Mon 16-Jun-25 17:20:09

Wyllow3 You've done so well....all those jobs that you wanted to do, all sorted out. I remember you used to enjoy going to the gym. It's great that you are going to start going again. Seeing your family is a goal to aim for. I know how much you'd love that, and they'll be so pleased to see you.

SweetpeaSue Hope the GP appt went well. What type of air fryer did you get? We use ours all the time (Ninja Foodie) and rarely use the oven. It's so much quicker and doesn't require any oil.

Good day with LG. Thankfully, she slept for 90 minutes when we got back. She went home at 5. Hope everyone has been ok x

Scaredycat Mon 16-Jun-25 17:58:38

Hi all
SweetPeaSue- hope the appointment helped you both. GP can’t argue with the results of the Oxymeter. You did well to get out to GC afterwards - you needed a diversion from all your worry.
I,d be wound up if I was you.
Those dogs must drive you bananas- not their fault as you say.
You,ll find the right words I,m sure if you have to say anything.Air fryers are great- we love ours so does my DD love hers.
HVDY- Your Fathers Day sounded nice- a roof garden must be lovely in the sunshine. The pub must be a good one. My Sis and her DH love real ales.
Early morning call again Jaffa!! At the end of next week we are going to look after my DD 2 cats and sleep there - think we,ll lock the bedroom door. There’s no carpet outside the door so they can’t scratch hopefully.
Good day with LG for you- she,s very adaptable isn’t she.
Doodle- thank you for popping in and glad to hear you got to Church. That little cry did you good- how could you not feel sad on such a day. What is the jigsaw of?
Wyllow- what a clever Sis you have and some nieces and nephews too - do they have families? It’s lovely you have her to turn to and chat with.
The Computer story was Classic!!
Yesterday turned out busy for you but what a lot you accomplished. It’s so great to hear the enthusiasm and interest in things again. You have much to look forward to.
Yes better to do the meds thing when you’re quiet.
Hope you are pleased with the clothes and got some tasty treats too.
EllieAnne- How are things with you? Have you had your Anniversary yet?

Today we went on a Sea trip over to some islands with lots of birds. It was overcast but so nice to be on a boat again.
Wonder how all our posters are who we,ve not seen lately - hope they’re OK.
Take care all and hope tonight is a peaceful one

Doodle Mon 16-Jun-25 18:05:12

scaredycat the jigsaw is of sons dogs one black one white. It will take forever.
Wyllow good to hear you’re doing well.
HvDY sounds like you had a good time Father’s Day and a nice time with little girl today.
Sweetpeasue hope the GP appointment went well.
Sorry wrist hurting now can’t write more,,lots of love xx

Sweetpeasue Mon 16-Jun-25 19:54:44

Scaredycat Never been on those boat trips to see birds on an island but have always wondered how they'd be. Pity it was overcast but sounds like you like boat rides. I'm OK, as long as it's not too choppy ! Appt went well though GP did sort of argue about oxymeter result by looking in his records earlier this Yr and saying that it was almost ' normal' for him because BPM were often in the 60s. I quickly reminded him that even in the 60s is v low for a 70 Yr old and DH is no athlete! He tested DH with oxymeter while there and it was 51 bpm. Anyway he's already referred DH to Rapid Access Chest clinic this morning. Hope the sun has come out for you.
HVDY I remember DGS sleeping at that age and taking naps - 90ins was long. She must have been tired. Thanks appt went quite well and it was good to get one. DH said he'd still go ahead with Spirometry test to 'prove to everyone he's not got COPD or Asthma' GP went quiet.
Our air- fryer is a Tower one . I cooked jacket potatoes and 2 chicken breasts in foil. They were lovely. Am impressed. Has one large drawer. You're right should save a lot on oven usage and power.
WyllowHope you had a good day and found some clothes and food treats. I'm overdue for an eye test - you reminded me.
Never thought of looking at past Young Musicians performances as I've missed some finalists. She really is a beautiful Harpist.
Doodle Sounds like the jigsaw has small pieces unless you meant your poor hands are struggling. Of all the things to happen - and both hands too- you've been so unlucky there. So sorry you're still finding wrists painful.
Thankyou the appt went well and the referral letter already sent. We were lucky to get receptionist to answer in the morning queue just a couple of mins
after 8am- then aft appt.

Hoping all have had a reasonable day and have a peaceful night.
