Sorry no help but as one of those whose right tube blocks regularly (I try the hold nose and blow manoeuvre - works sometimes, sometime just leads to earache). Anyway - yes it must be really annoying and tiring so sending you good wishes.

Not wishing to make light of your condition but when I read the title I thought that it was about TfL drivers going on strike again in Central London.
Mind you, my father in law used to tell us he had trouble with his "Crustacean tube" (sic)

An AI search revealed the following, hope the links work?
- **Noninvasive Treatments**: Simple strategies like briefly putting your head between your legs or lying down can sometimes provide relief[](https://stanfordhealthcare.org/medical-conditions/ear-nose-and-throat/patulous-eustachian-tube-dysfunction/treatments.html "1").
- *Medications*: Nasal sprays or medications may help close the Eustachian tubes[](https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/patulous-eustachian-tube "2").
- **Surgical Options**: Procedures such as eardrum patching or Eustachian tube plugging can be considered in more severe cases[](https://stanfordhealthcare.org/medical-conditions/ear-nose-and-throat/patulous-eustachian-tube-dysfunction/treatments.html "1

Thanks rosie1959. What I have is the opposite, my eustation tube stays permanently open which means every time I talk my own voice booms in my head. Its driving me crazy.

I do have a few problems with my eustation tubes which block periodically. I have tried a few remedies but the thing that helps the most is a steam facial and massage at my beauticians. I tend to go when they start to feel blocked.

Hi everyone
After nearly being driven mad by my voice and breathing booming in my head for over a year, I’ve eventually been diagnosed with patulous eustation tube dysfunction. The ENT doctor at the hospital told me there is no treatment for it and sent me away.
Is there anyone out there who suffers with this who can give me any advice on how to manage this condition. I have almost stopped going out as talking is excruciatingly difficult and I even sound different, almost like I have a bad cold. The thought of this going on indefinitely is just awful.
Many thanks x
