Weird episode

This afternoon I experienced a weird and frightening experience . My sight went blurred as though I had been looking at a bright light. This passed fairly quickly. About 15 minutes later I was talking to a friend on the phone when suddenly I knew what I wanted to say but couldn't get the right words or remember who people were.
It passed but I was left feeling disorientated.
Has anyone experienced anything similar?

Lots of advice, so nothing to add.
Just wanted to wish you well.
Please, if possible let us know how you are. flowers

Mazgg have you managed to see your GP yet. I think you need an urgent appointment to be on the safe side. If you havent, I suggest you ring 111 and ask for advice 💐

I really hope the OP went to the GP or to A and E. Something like this happened to me some years ago - I had had a TIA .

I had a TIA and it was how you described. That was a year ago and I’m fine.On blood thinners and blood pressure meds. Take care.

I hope you have gone to A&E, or GP who has alerted the acute stroke service for advice?

I couldn't get an appointment today but have taken a low dose aspirin as a precaution. I'm feeling absolutely fine but will let you all know tomorrow what has been said.
Once again thank you all for your concern and good wishes.

I wrote a message yesterday but it seems to have disappeared. I have been diagnosed with aural migraine because the events didn't all happen once. Hopefully won't happen again.

Good to have a diagnosis. 🙂

My mum lost her eyesight for a few seconds then it came back. She was later diagnosed with extremely high blood sugar, hospitalised and diagnosed with diabetes type 2. See your GP ASAP OP

That’s good to know Mazgg. My migraines are more ‘with aura’ now. From the age of five or six I had the full blown exceedingly painful ones which painkillers didn’t touch. Then in my 40s triptans were developed. As soon as the visual disturbances begin I take a table and generally with half an hour I’m ok, albeit a little washed out. It’s always good to get a diagnosis with this sort of thing. A friend of mine started having migraines in her 30s and was convinced she was having a stroke.

Mazgg - at least, you know there’s a name for your symptoms
