I hope it all goes well and that you get the improvement in your QOL that you need. Don't judge the success too soon, it was only after the PM was reset 6 weeks after the AV node ablation that I really started to feel the benefit and be prepared for ectopics, I had quite a lot in the early days but that's not at all unusual.

Setting off today to spend the night in Birmingham to be ready for early start at the QE hospital tomorrow for my av node ablation . I have the pacemaker already and this is the second stage of the procedure. I am desperate for it to help as at the moment I can do so little - even a shower wipes me out.

I had six weeks in QE in Birmingham ( by private airyplane, no less!) so Jorge Mascaro could build me a new aorta and other bits and pieces. The six weeks was because they couldn’t do the surgery for four weeks because they had no ICU nurses. It was the longest four weeks of my life. They still had a no visiting policy because of Covid, but staff were very good at bringing me treats from M&S in the lobby, and the lovely wee fruit market at the door. I was impressed by the hospital, especially as when the doc said he wanted, say, a scan or other test, a porter appeared within minutes and the tests were done.

I find "HealthUnlocked" forum invaluable for AF/Ablation! Medication and associated issues. Loads of personal advice.
It's linked with the British Heart Foundation, no one over steps and gives poor advice. Worth a follow I was given the link by my Arrthymia Nurse prior my Ablation.

The op went without hitch but lots of stressful travel and other hiccups.
I am far more wiped out with it than I had hoped and can do every little today. Tried walking down the garden but I'm quite shaky. May still have drugs in my system which won't be helping. I will have t be patient.
