I had a bcc the side of my nose removed by mohs in July of last year. I really only noticed it because it started to bleed slightly when I dried my face after washing. If it is a bcc it will depend where it is on your nose and how deep it is but it is a really common cancer, usually doesn't spread and normally isn't a problem once it's removed. Try not to worry. Unfortunately I had swelling post surgery which meant it didn't heal as quickly as it might have done but I don't even think about it now.

I understand your worry. I have a small area of dry skin on the side of my nose it's been there for over a year now in spite of the various heavy duty creams I've put on to try to get rid of it. I am now thinking I should go and see a doctor about this in case it's something serious. Of course getting to actually see a doctor ,if I tell receptionist I just have some dry skin on my nose, could be a problem. Hope your results setyour mind at rest.

oh thank you each and everyone and praying and hoping we are all well and able.

Try not to worry. Best to get it sorted on your nose sooner, rather than later. Hopefully nothing 🙏

I know. It's easy to say don't worry but one can't help worrying.

Absolutely. I had a biopsy on my ear on the middle bit, had visions they would have to remove the whole piece.
Results took ages to come back. It was just like a fatty, hard lump 😅

Can anyone tell me how long the local anaesthetic for a biopsy takes to wear off and if there is a lot of pain afetrwards?

I am having a biopsy in September for a lesion on my leg which looks like a hole punched in my leg and have never had a biopsy before.

Mine lasted 1/2 hr & little stingy afterwards. Nothing major.

When I had my ear biopsied, the nurse handed me a piece of paper on the way out, it said ask for MOHS if I needed surgery.
Luckily was nothing.

my biopsy was on my nose, and as you may have seen I am anticipating having to have something done.... the biopsy was o.k for me.. a bit stingy, well it was my nose when they put the anesthic (sp?????) in but really if the actual operation goes like this I have nothing to worry about... to answer your question I didn`t really notice to be honest,, Iwould think perhaps half an hour and no, I don`t recall myine being stingy afterwards.. no pain for me,, and I am a timid creature..

polnan this isn't to scare you but please take heart in the fact if it is skin cancer the treatments are better than when my husband had it.

My husband was diagnosed with grade 4 malignant melanoma in January 2001 and told he had 5 years to live . He's cancer was 2.5mm it appeared over might. I was born disabled my husband was fit and healthy. The melanoma was just above his right ear in his jet black hair he had a full bushy beard. When he had it removed they had to go twice as deep and twice width all round and skin was taken from the side of his neck where his shoulder meet his neck so one healed you coukd see in as it in the crease of his neck. My husband had large oval scar on his face had cut his beard down to a goatee as they said not hair would grow in a skin graft. But my idiot of a husband had 4 hairs growing when he died. He always had to be different 😁.

If anyone asked about he's scar he told them he got bottled in a pub fight and you should have seen the other fella. He had a weird sense of humour and could make you believe black was white.

Because he never wanted anyone to know he was dieing or in his words dead man walking . Only me and the children knew. Only when he was terminal we had to tell people and he cut people out of our life who treated him differently. I had to threaten my parents they had to be the same with him or he wouldn't see them .

He died 4 days after his 47th birthday in 2004 at home in our bed with me and the children.

Now this isn't to frightened you . But I am happy to say nowadays there is treatment for grade 4 malignant melanoma which would have increased his life span it isn't the death sentence it was.

Even if its benign which I hope it is wear factor 50 suncream and make sure every bit of exposed skin has it on.

Please everyone check your bodies monthly for any change in moles ,skin tags, spots suddenly appear but dont look like spots normally do and any skin which has changed colour. Get check out better to be safe than sorry.

People think I am weird that I am happy there is treatment and if my husband was alive today he would have lived longer and had better quality of life .

Please everyone remember winter sun is just as dangerous as summer.

polnan my husband died 22 years ago . I know how frightening it is but take heart there are better treatments now. And never be ashamed if you end with a scar on your face . Wear it with pride you have survived. Fingers and toes crossed for your results.
