I have applied for a badge but reading this thread, doubt if I will get one.
I know of 2 ladies, both Blue Badge holders; one has no mobility problems at all but just doesn't like walking and the other has never driven a car but has a badge just in case anyone giving her a lift anywhere would like to use it. Hardly fair that these 2 have badges and GN's on here are refused when they clearly need one.You don’t have to be able to drive to be eligible for a BB, you do always have to be in the car though where BB is displayed.
There are other reasons BB might be awarded that don’t include mobility issues (which I’ve always found a bit weird)We were going to the supermarket - mum, me and her blue badge.
She wasn’t going to get out of the car so I didn’t park in a disabled bay. I think that’s a no no.
Goof for you 👍.
The rules make it quite clear that the BB shouldn't be used if the disabled person is remaining in the car, but it seems to be very widely disregarded, which is very annoying and inconsiderate.
