I don't like too many gadgets cluttering up the house, as most of them don't get used much and take up loads of space (ie steam cleaner my husband bought)

But I've just treated myself to a Joseph and Joseph scoop colander, which allows you to scoop and drain food straight from a pan. When there's only 1 or 2 of you, it's really handy for draining and dishing up veg etc. instead of using a colander and serving spoon.

Sharp knives
Kmix mixer
Stick blender
Rubbery spatula thingy!

Having, for years, looked at Microplane graters and thought 'How much?' I recently succumbed (succame grin) and absolutely love it for nutmeg, lemon, small amounts of parmesan. I want the whole range now!

Navy blue Brown Betty teapot, strainer and kettle!

JAB, your teabag squeezer has made me realise that I still have, in my kitchen drawer, my grandma`s double spoon with holes in it, for brewing tea in the cup with loose tea. Methinks it would serve as a teabag squeezer outer.

annodomini Fri 08-Feb-13 16:54:09

number, if you mean that hinged double spoon, my DS2 has one in his kitchen drawer and was using it just the other day to brew a nice cup of Earl Grey. I used to have a ball that you filled with tea and immersed in a teacup. But my favourites are my big and small Chatsford teapots with filters in which you put the tea before pouring on the boiling water.

Yes Anno, that`s the one. My Grandma had it for years, gave it to us when we got married, but now that we don`t use loose tea anymore, it`s been lying redundant for years.

Movedalot Fri 08-Feb-13 17:31:35

Ella I like your first one very much grin
