It is a clever design, anyway. Beats the old four-posts-with-little-metal-arms at each corner of the grass and the clothes prop holding up the crossed ropes in the middle. At least you can lower the top and put a plastic sock over it to keep the ropes clean. But we used to have a set of those with a second lot of little arms halfway down the posts, so you could hang another row of short things on another rope. Good for nappies.
In a different house with only a straight clothes line I used to hang a second row of nappies from the lower edges of the first row, pegged to alternate ones so as to keep them out straight (by that I mean that pegging one nappy directly to the one above would make it droop, pegging it to the ones either side of the one above it wouldn't)
