What's the point of them ? They would cost a lot more than 25p to make so why not just donate to the charity? Am I missing something here?

The reason my GD wants to do this hat is, having just learned how to knit she thinks she can do the hat and I have to show her how to make a pom pom.

I have wondered about the hats for smoothies. I cannot see what use they are at all for anything else. That seems a complete waste of time.

The problem is that once we have finished our elevated discussions sorting out the problems of the world, other Gransnetters and anyone else foolish enough to wander on to Gransnet we descend from the rarified atmosphere of our cloud nine and realise that the washing heap is overflowing and we cannot find any clean knickers.

Which brings me to washing machines!!!!!!

I need a new one and when in a local shop asked why the programmes were so fixed, temperature etc. I was told that these programmes are set and standardised by the clothing manufacturers so that they can give standard washing instructions on clothing labels. If you are lucky you will be allowed to reduce the temperature, but never, never exceed it.

Personally I look back fondly back to the days when my machine had a wash cycle dial and a water temperature dial and made my own decisions on such important topics as temperature and wash length of my washing!!

There is ths modern invention called a 'window cleaner'. If you get one of those your can eat cake all day.

HOWcan anyone live without a Karcher?

Now that DG has mastered a scarf for her dolly she has asked me to help her knit an 'innocent juice' hat. This is our project for the weekend.

I don't clean the windows outside. The wind and rain do it for me, so I have more time to eat cake

And now j08 has made me realise that I shouldn't have finished at the scrimming and there was another stage to go through. My domestic goddess delusions have come crashing down.

Aka; it looks like a piece of sackcloth but costs a lot more . What is a Karcher? Is this some sort of domestic one upmanship?? How can anyone improve on a bit of sack ?
