Washing sun umbrellas!

Sorry I should have previewed -treating!!

We have had our sun umbrellas for nearly 50 years- can't remember ever having seen the need to wash them!

It isn't really an option. The mice ate our last one or may be it was the squirrels.

Surely, they are only dirty on the outside, which becomes the top, which at 5'5" I can't see. And it does rain an awful lot here!

We too had to replace ours this year after mice ate the last one. They also ate 2 directors chairs, and the covers on DH's fishing rods.

I've never felt the nead to wash a sunshade.

Can't say I've ever thought about washing our sun umbrella , its cream and about 7/8yrs old, I've always assumed it will eventually rot away as its out in all weathers for 6mths of the year and then stored in the garden shed..
