Shelter offer fantastic advice. A landlord has to serve you notice. You need to follow the procedures to the letter otherwise the council will try to say that you have made yourself intentionally homeless. The landlord will have to apply to the court to evict you. It can be quite a lengthy process; he can't just kick you out. Once he has served you notice your council will almost certainly offer you some more advice. This is a very worrying time but give Shelter a call and let them give you some support and professional advice.
