What are the pros and cons of these? I was looking at the Lakeland ones online and the reviews seem very good, but do they cause condensation? They certainly seem a lot cheaper to run (6p per hour) than a tumble drier.

We have the Lakeland one. Love it. Have had it for around 8 years, it’s brilliant no condensation, I put a sheet over the top and it keeps the heat in, wouldn’t be without mind

I just use an ordinary airer and find clothes dry within 24 hours .

I have the Lakeland one, and have bought one for my daughter as well. You do need to have a cover, I find, otherwise it can take a long time for the clothes to dry.

I have the top rail open and just hang the clothes from that and let them dry. If they're not too long, I will fold out the bottom rail too, so that the warmth from that will rise and dry clothes quicker. After a few hours, I go and turn the clothes around.

I didn't like placing the clothes across the rails as I found it left marks across the clothes.

I also find that it can keep the cold edge off a room - it's not going to replace a heater, but definitely raises the temperature a little bit.

I'm another very happy owner of a Lakeland Dry Soon. Mine stays open all the time in our 'child's' former bedroom. One of the unexpected joys of the empty nest!

For heavier items, or ones I need dried quickly, I use the cover. Haven't noticed any condensation.

Heated driers must cause condensation. All that water has to go somewhere. I'd recommend a dehumidifier. Mine is large capacity, decades old, gets washing on an airer bone dry in a couple of hours - and is very cheap to run. It's impressive just how much water it removes!

I have never experienced any condensation with my Lakeland heater. I just open the window slightly, which may account for the lack of moisture.
