Our downstairs loo is right next to the front door and, despite having an extractor fan, sometimes smells from the loo escape into the hall and are fairly obvious when one comes in the front door (obviously DH's fault!)

I've tried various smellies but hate the underlying chemical smell that also escapes into the hall.

Has anyone got any good ideas?

Aldi do some lovely reasonable scent diffusers.

I make my own air freshener from cheap vodka and lavender oil. Mix together in a spray container. A few squirts of that in the air gets rid of any whiffs.

My DD has a spray in the loo called No Shit Sherlock!

Matches are good! as I found out after asking my brother what on earth a box of big Cook’s Matches was doing in his downstairs loo.
That was a few years ago and AFAIK there have not been any explosions of methane gas - at least not that I’ve heard of.

Have you got another loo. My DH not allowed to use the one by the front door as it’s also near the kitchen.smile
