Bicarb?

Bicarb and white vinegar. I sometimes pull the lever up in the cistern to lower the water level.

Remember ‘Kim and Aggie’ Coca Cola I think it was left overnight

salts of lemon, made into paste with a little water, spread on a double layer of toilet paper and placed overnight on the marks.

Next morning flush the toilet and scrub hard witht the brush.

I have a septic tank and do use bleach now and then and it hasn't caused a problem in forty years of living here. I think it's OK if you don't overdo it.

A green scratchy cloth by hand!

If you have a good hardware store try and get your hands on this.

Years ago my sister in law tasted the coco cola the grand children had left behind. She poured it down the loo and left it over night, she and BiL both saved water and had a septic tank, in the morning in loo was sparkling.

Between being able to clean toilets and dissolving teeth it makes you wonder why Coke is passed as fit for human consumption.

Spirits of Salts available from hardware stores. Don’t breathe it in. I wouldn’t use regularly with a septic tank but once in a while wouldn’t hurt.

Parazone Bleach (If you can find it) is OK to use in septic tanks. 'Savers' stock it and you can also find it on line.

Cocoa cola works a treat

Two Steradent tablets left in the basin overnight.

Just looked at the description for the Glaze toilet cleaner and descaler. Says it removes body fat (amongst other things). Could this be the answer to my COVID weight gain?

Also have a septic tank and just looked a Glaze - it doesn’t actually say it’s safe for tanks. I, too, occasionally use a little bleach.

Drain the cistern and bowl, soak your solution onto kitchen towels and place them around the walls of the bowl. Remove them in the morning. I remember Kim and Agie doing this to stop the solution running away.

Coca cola....brilliant for cleaning toilets. How people can drink it I do not know...hahaha

My daughter used to clean her bicycle spokes with cola - whatever does it do to your insides?
Just for fun, put a penny in a glass of cola and see how shiny it comes out.

A strong mixture of vinegar and the water in the toilet bowl if the stain is below water level, leave for a few minutes then flush.

If the stain(s) are above where the water level is (example around the rim of the toilet) brush well with undiluted vinegar and leave for a few minutes, then rinse.

Repeat if necessary.

Always works a treat for me and my wife and we live in one of the hardest water areas in the country.

Coca cola! Or possibly a cheaper equivalent? It seems to dissolve limescale. When we were kids, we used to do a biology experiment leaving a chicken bone in cola for several days. The cola dissolved the calcium but left the connective tissue, so we were left with a flexible "bone"!

P.S. And vinegar doesn't strip the chrome off either!

Jillybird, I use a half-inch painting brush and keep dabbing the neat vinegar around the base of the taps in the Bathrooms and kitchen. Rinse a few times and repeat and then "gleaming" with not a sign of a stain. ? wonderful.
