I’m after recommendations for a new king size mattress. I’ve looked at the Hybrid mattresses online, but I’m a bit unsure as to whether the memory foam in them will make me too warm! They say they have a ‘cool’ layer, but I’m not convinced! We don’t want to pay out for one of these and end up overheated and uncomfortable. Any suggestions? Might have to stick with a new coil sprung one. Any recommendations for these too?

I assume, Lincslass that your daughter hasn’t been to the factory itself and asked directly then?

I was told categorically (when I pushed them) that it is a “similar” mattress but made to a price point for the domestic market. I admit it was just before the first lockdown so I’m aware things may change but we asked about any differences specifically as my daughter thought she wanted one. I can’t remember the different details but if I remember correctly it was to do with the number and size of the pocket springs ( and possibly the nature of the padding). They have a 5year guarantee whereas all other Hypnos beds have 10 years.

They don’t actually sell the PI beds in their showroom. They are sold through a different system.

In the end she bought a different model but same make (Hypnos) bed.

We bought a new king size pocket sprung with natural filling, pricey but just lovely to sleep on, only downside it’s heavy to turn.
