Morning everyone, I've got friends coming to stay later in the year and having looked at my towels, they are a bit like Gwen's out of Gavin and Stacey!

I've always bought Christy in the past, has anyone found another brand that washes well? I haven't got a tumble drier now and will have to line dry them.

M&S, John Lewis, Waitrose, Sainsbury - and not such eye watering prices as Christy!

The White House Towels are lovely Shandy, but l think expensive.
My personal choice is Dunelm. Great quality & they launder well.
I shall be interested to read other recommendations.

I think I might have bought Christy at Dunelm.

I have found Sainsbury's very good.

Another vote for dunelm towels

One of the best ones I have is from Sainsburys, 80/20% cotton modal. Dries very quickly and stays soft.

I have a few old Christy hand towels which I keep meaning to throw out because they are old and scratchy but just keep them on the back of the kitchen door. M and S bath towels and sheets also stay soft and dry quickly on a blowy day.

Dunelm and M+S are both nice and wear well.

Do you have a TKMaxx near you. They often do hotel quality towels

The last lot I bought from Dunelm are lovely, thick and have washed well, although the colour did come out a bit.

Dunelm, every time. I’ve had mine getting on for 12 years now, and they are still thick and fluffy.

Christy is now an Indian company. I think they are manufactured in Gujarat now.

My daughters have M&S, Dunelm, Sainsbury's and Ikea. They are all ok but nothing special.
I'd like to know where to buy some lovely towels too

I'm a fan of fluffy BTW but not too thick.
Ideas welcome!

The majority of our towels are John Lewis own brand and we have got some from Sainsbury’s which are equally as good.

White Company towels are luxurious, and they are mine, all mine ??

I got some really nice ones recently at Next Home.
I also like Sainsbury's and IKEA.

I have found the towels in Primark to be great value for money. I'm referring to the dearer towels that they sell which are still quite cheap. They are very thick and last well. I bought white bath towels for my new grand-daughter 8 years ago and they are still going strong. I had bought some previous to that I still use.
I second going to look in TK Max, they also sell very good quality towels at a reasonable price.

My husband has very sensitive skin and was complaining about our towels.
After using a quantity of towels to mop up a bit of a flood from a burst pipe, I got my daughter to launder them and they came back super soft from her tumble dryer.
We don’t have a tumble dryer and I have no intention of getting one, so I bought some bamboo towels. They are the softest ever and he loves them. One lot came from Allure, another lot from Thetowelshop. Not the cheapest, but I got a bundle of 6 items: 2 facecloths, 2 hand towels and 2 bath sheets for £45. I can recommend them. The one from Allure was about £18 I think.

The White Company when in the sale. Not cheap even then but last for years , fluff up and really absorb moisture.

LadyGracie Sat 29-May-21 12:24:15

I got some lovely ones from Asda, also like the thick fluffy ones from Dunhelm.

GG13, DH prefers harsh towels so that works for us - he gets my cast offs!!

Charleygirl5 Sat 29-May-21 15:08:12

I bought two lots of towels in Primark. I do not use Lenor and these towels retain their fluffiness. They were so cheap, they are good quality and I really like them.

Ellianne Sat 29-May-21 15:17:52

I like the White Company towels, but colours are limited of course.
We used to supply 25 sets of towels a week in France and M & S wore well.

Jane43 Sat 29-May-21 15:19:55

I bought some Lovely Christy towels recently from a site called Brand Alley. They have an offer at the moment. Two hand towels for £9.50, bath towel for £9.00 and bath sheet for £12.50. Various colours.

I have bought several lots of towels over the last couple of years to find some really nice ones. I tried M&S, Sainsburys, Matalan, Ocado and Dunelm. The best by far were the Eqyptian cotton ones from Dunelm. They are not too thick, fluffy and retain their softness after washing. I sometimes use ecover softener but they are always soft whether I use it or not. The colour did come out for the first couple of washes. I have tried to buy the Dunelm bamboo towels but they are always sold out! So they must be good too!!!

rockgran Sat 29-May-21 15:37:18

Actually I prefer old and scratchy!

JMcD Sat 29-May-21 15:39:22

Dunelm ultra towels - quite thick, wash well, not much fluff, reasonable price in a range of great colours.
