I have a shed 10‘ x 10‘ and not in bad condition, I thought!I had a guy come round from a shed company to see about doing the repairs and I’m having new windows doors and a roof however he did not pick up on the rotten wood at the bottom of the shed and I rang the company and was very peeved but it is what it is and I need to carry on. On the right side of the shed there about two panels of wood that are really rotten and a few along the front as well but the rest of the shed seems to be quite good condition. It is dry lined and has electricity. Anyway first thing to do is get all the rubbish out of it and my son is coming today to take rubbish to the tip so will see how it goes and keep you informed…. As you can imagine any advice very gratefully received(As long as it’s not burn it down and start again!!!?‍♀️) And inside the shed on the side where the rotten wood is the floor is quite damp so all in all I think this is going to be quite A big job…

When you are in the middle of building work you just want to get on with it. Never mind, Shinamae think how lovely it will be when it is finished.

I suppose it is happening a lot what with covid etc. It will get done soon smile

Aldom Tue 31-Aug-21 11:50:42

I had to wait for six months for a new shed, due to Covid.

Hopefully it will be done this week because it needs to be painted internally before the new floor is laid a week tomorrow, the day before I go and visit my daughter, I really wanted it all done by the time I went away

Just had a phone call, they will not be doing it now until next Monday, I am really upset as I had booked the new flooring to go in on the Wednesday but obviously the painting needs to be done before then plus I’m going up to see my daughter on the Thursday and thought it would all have been done by then but not to be…?‍♀️?..

Just had another phone call, they have jiggled things around and are now coming tomorrow!! ?

Oh brilliant smile

How are you going to decorate it? and what are you planning to do in there once it is finished?

I'm trying to persuade my husband to buy a summerhouse atm so I can procrastinate somewhere else blush

Well Jane the main reason for it is so that I can sit out there in the winter reading, and listen to the wind and rain on the roof. It will also serve as a bedroom as I am getting a sofa bed in there in case my daughter wants to come and stay and she can have my bedroom and I will sleep out there. You will have to wait and see the colour scheme! ? There will not actually be a lot in there,I am getting a small Ottoman to keep bedding in and also a small coffee table and that should be it.. I was going to get a few plants to put in there but the price of them is exorbitant so may not bother with them…

Did anyone watch Grand Designs last night?
I wouldn't have but DH was keen!

Stonehenge meets nuclear power station which was supposedly a family home in the Devon countryside. How did it get planning permission? Nice views, though.

It reminds me of when I did a holiday season job at King Arthur’s cafe in Tintagel and lived in a shed at the back of the shop. I had a bed, a small wardrobe and a baby belling cooker. The downside was that I had to use the men’s outside loo at the pub next door but, apart from that it had everything I needed and I do fantasise these days about mothballing my house and just living in a shed or a caravan with an iPad, a telly and lots of books.
