My number one is getting the vacuum out and hoovering, I find it very therapeutic ?. I can honestly say I’m no Freddie Mercury wanting to break free,

Really enjoy all aspects of laundry - washing, hanging out and especially ironing. I think it is because I had hardly any clothes when young and viewed them as something to be coveted and treasured - I can't bear to see clothes not looked after!
I have to clean the house every day as we have a labrador and the shedding of dog hairs is relentless; but, luckily, I don't really mind most housework (I am a bit OCD about having a clean house) however, I absolutely hate window cleaning, dusting (moving all those picture frames and plant pots etc) and cleaning the oven .

I love hanging out the washing on a sunny windy day and then watching it blow. Other chores are a chore..

Another vote for laundry, I love doing it and I love the smell of the freshly pressed stuff.
Recently bought a steam mop for my kitchen floor and as this now takes just a couple of minutes to do instead of what seems like half an hour of humping around a mop and bucket (it’s a large kitchen) this is a close second.

I find washing up very soothing but it drain drys, I haven’t used the dishwasher for a lot time

Wouldn’t hang out washing because it’s the way spiders, hiding in the garments, get in the house.

I hate all of it. Life’s too short. I paid for a weekly cleaner when I was working. Joy of joys - in retirement I find Himself likes to be ‘doing’ now he has more time on his hands - it would be mean to interrupt his domestic sorties!

As for me ... #lazygran ... this describes how I feel about housework:

I just put my earbuds in and get on with it, listening to podcasts and audio books. I don't really thing about whether I enjoy it or not.

Same here.

The hoovering becomes a fast work-out as the noise drowns out the book that I’m keen to get back to.

My (French) MiL trying to show me up, said in front of the family, that she swept the floor after every meal, my 7 year old DD immediately pipe up ‘you must be dirty eaters’.

Meant to quote Urmstongran Housekeeping observation.

I hate every household chore. Even cooking. The older I get, the more I resent time spent on any of them, but needs must. Would rather be gardening. Can’t bring myself to get a cleaner though.

Casdon Sat 18-Sept-21 16:45:28

I love using the coffee machine, I don’t even mind cleaning it. Does that count?

Jane43 Sat 18-Sept-21 16:46:21

I don’t mind doing the laundry, cleaning out the fridge, hoovering and cleaning the hard floors with my Bissell Crosswave cleaner. I tolerate the rest of the chores and I hate cleaning the oven, cleaning windows, ironing and changing the King size duvet cover.

spiders will always find a way in to a house, they don't need to be carried in on washing.
they like to seek shelter when it is wet.
they keep off other less desirable creatures.
washing is shook with a smart snap before being carried indoors. no problemo.

AGAA4 Sat 18-Sept-21 17:27:02

Housework is an evil necessity, the least evil is ironing.

welbeck Sat 18-Sept-21 17:37:56

i don't think i've ever done ironing.
no wish to try.

welbeck Sat 18-Sept-21 17:39:51

ironing seems potentially dangerous to me, and difficult, and unnecessary.
and would mean buying equipment.
so it's a no from me.

Without help in the house, I would turn into Miss Haversham. Am allergic to housecleaning but love my dishwasher and washing machine. I even like listening to them and seeing the clothes etc. rolling around in the drum.
What a godsend our machines are!

I hate housework....I'm not lazy...I will garden for hours and I do other people's gardens also....but housework is a pain in the proverbial..

Patsy70 Sat 16-Oct-21 16:43:04

I dislike it intensely, and resent the fact that no sooner have you cleaned the house, you have to repeat it all over again. But, I like the house to be clean! I can’t afford a cleaner. Spend hours working hard in the garden, I also enjoy cooking, which I don’t consider to be a chore.

Yammy Sat 16-Oct-21 17:42:25

You must be joking a favourite chore none but I do them because I like a clean tidy house.
I don't mind hanging sheets etc out on a warm day and bringing them in smelling of the outdoors.
Like Patsy70 above I do like cooking and trying new recipes, though, the garden leaves me cold.
DD's have inherited it.

Nonogran Sat 16-Oct-21 17:50:12

I love sweeping the kitchen floor & washing it up. I love sweeping in my garden. I live ironing.
I hate cleaning the bath & sink. I do the toilet very regularly as I don’t mind that. Weird!

BlueSapphire Sat 16-Oct-21 17:53:46

Hate all housework, but if I had to choose, I'd pick hanging the washing out and cooking.

NotTooOld Sat 16-Oct-21 17:57:30

I hate all housework and all cooking. I have to do it though as I also hate a dirty and untidy house. DH helps.

Sunlover Sat 16-Oct-21 18:12:11

I hate all housework. Someone once told me ‘ housework makes you ugly’.

Trisha57 Sat 16-Oct-21 18:17:23

I'm a very weird person - I love cleaning the oven! I view it as a challenge. How many bits can I take apart to get to the parts that other oven-cleaners cannot reach?!!!! I must admit that I sometimes take photos as I go along so that I can put it all back together again..........very sad!

LucyLocket55 Sat 16-Oct-21 18:39:49

None - not a single one!
