Any recommendations for a useful Moving Checklist?

I remember a while ago someone putting on this forum a very useful checklist for moving, which included who to contact about change of address etc. I thought I had saved it but can’t find it anywhere. Not a good start...!

Google 'moving house check lists' and you will be inundated with choice. i was going to recommend the Which?, ones, but someone has already done that.

We've never moved, seems to me the most important bit may be selecting the Packers and removers. I'd want to know packing was being accomplished well and breakage/damage was minimal.

Perhaps check ratings/ referrals for packing removal firms?

I am sure that you will have many ideas for lists passed on by other people . I have moved quite a lot both here and abroad, so my tip is to find a decent b and b close to your new home, (check some out when you go and look round your new place) and book 2 nights with them. We have done this several times. It means that if there is delay with the removals arriving or any problems with things such as electrics or water etc , we can do as much as we want to and know that we have a shower and a nice clean bed to fall into when we have done enough and not have to put the beds up immediately . Having a bag of favourite tea/coffee mugs , cafetiere or teapot so that you have them to hand and dont have to start digging them out of the cases. Put a chair looking out into the garden with its back to the mess so that when you need a little break you are not sat staring at it all. Hope all goes well for you and good luck
