Shinamae have you checked to see if anything is causing a blockage? Might be easily sorted if you check the brush, filter, tubing etc. A foreign object is often the cause and if you manage to fish it out then normal function will be restored.

I stripped it down and change the bag but it’s still making a noise and spitting stuff out ?

I will go have a look at Gtech and maybe shark as well,thank you ladies??

Sounds terminal then Shinamae! My son and Dil have a Shark. I really like it and will make that my next replacement when it’s needed.

I have contacted Halo customer services so will see what they say before I get a new one, “Which”actually recommends halo as their best cordless apparently

No I would never go back to Dyson now

Another vote for the GTech. I am on my 3rd GTech, had them since they were introduced. However, I was not happy with the handheld version, it lacked power and was quite heavy.

I love my GTech, it's very effective and very easy to use. The after sales service is excellent. When mine needed a new part within a couple of months it was with me in 2 days. The guy I spoke to was very apologetic that it wasn't 24 hours, but 'they were stocktaking'.

Definitely not Dyson. Worst mistake we ever made. My niece is delighted with her GTech and my DD loves her Shark (so do I!).

I have two, Dyson stick for hard floors downstairs, GTech for carpets upstairs. I'm delighted with both, quick to charge, easy to empty, not much can go wrong with them.

When my Dyson was misbehaving, we took it to the local Dyson Doctor, ( UK franchise) and it was sorted in half an hour for £40.

happy with my Dyson stick. had it 3 years now ......only complaint is that i live in a flat and i think it is noisy and sounds like a drill. had no complaint though and of course it's very quick to use.

We just got a shark stick thing in the sale on shark website. We have a Dyson cylinder but since DH had stroke he can't use it - I can but he feels guilty that it's all up to me. Debated shark and Dyson stick but I didn't want a charging station so went for the shark. DH is very pleased with it and rushes round obsessively. It has loads of attachments. I think the Dyson is lighter but not an issue. DD1 and DsiL have tried it and want one. I've just had bunion surgery so not really able to use any hoover yet ?
