Behind the bed😱😱😱

Confession time ladies. I am ashamed to admit that I am LAZY, in great big capital letters. And I hate housework. I do as little as possible and only when it really needs doing ( how can a room need dusting every day?). When I do do any it is on a " what can be seen " basis. Never under, behind or above.
But , behind and under my bed really does need dusting very badly. However, despite being on casters, my bed and the chests of drawers either side are too heavy to easily move. The tools on my upright Dyson are too difficult and cumbersome to manoeuvre into the gap. So, do any of you have any gadgets, gizmos or advice as to how I can actually manage this herculean task? Thank you

Your new best friends..

I bought one of these a couple of weeks ago I've reached places that I haven't for years, tops of wardrobes and cobwebs that have grade two status! My house is tidy but very dusty, unlike my mother I hate housework.

Bought one of what?? if it's something that will make life easier please let us know. My house is very dusty too and yes unlike my Mum I don't worry too much ( unless I know I'm getting a rare visitor - but hope they are coming to see me and not the mess)
Some years ago I bought my now ex a fridge magnet - I worked full time + did most of everything in house. He conveniently finished work when I got a promotion and he had the cheek to point out a cobweb - he didn't get rid of it.
The magnet said "You can admire the dust but don't write in it"

It was these that was suggested

GrannyGravy13, yes - a small grandchild or two, wearing fleece, are quite efficient at collecting all the cat hair. They don't mind a bath either -unlike the cat.

I bought a divan bed about 10 years ago. Carved headboards, four poster beds, heavy wooden frames were to be enjoyed in my youth......when I could bend and stretch to dust and clean. My aerobic workouts in the bedroom don't stretch very far these days but I still like a spotlessly clean bedroom - it helps me to breathe more easily at night. This divan is on castors, with four drawers, which I only ever fill with the garden cushions - because they are light and don't break the drawers, which are only made of cheap flimsy wood. My bed is a king size.....and it can be shifted (kicked almost) from one wall to another easily. I like a bit of a change in the bedroom these days (!!), so putting the bed on another wall just makes me think and dream differently. The light is different too. If things are getting dusty behind the bed I kick it to the other wall for a few weeks and clean-behind-the-bed. It regularly goes from one wall to another. Thinking ahead.....I am now thinking into my seventies and a wooden floor and a rug is the way to go. I use a swiffer as a broom and it is so easy and quick. Even the vacuum gets heavy these days! My advice....start to think ahead. We want life to become lighter.....not heavier.

Widgeon3. TORONTO -- A group of Canadian immunologists have discovered a previously unknown mechanism, which they say acts like a spider web to trap and kill pathogens including influenza or SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19.

Not actual cobwebs!

I have quickstep flooring and very heavy hypnos single beds, I put rubber castors on them when I moved house, free from hypnos. Being singles, they do move easily and I can splay them so I can get to every bit under them. I am sure I would not be able to move a big bed on carpet. A huge amount of visible fluff and dust gathers under and behind the beds, even though there is only me

Carpet moths must have a field day under immovable beds if the carpet is wool, or the likes of sisal

Make sure your furniture, including beds, are on legs, then, wood or carpet it is easy to vacuum under them.
