I need to replace a worktop in the bathroom and possibly the kitchen.
Can anyone recommend using Corian.

Thank you Llamedos13 for your information, how awful for your daughter after spending so much money on the worktop.
I had wondered if the lighter colours would be better but apparently not.

We've wood worktops in the kitchen and granite in the bathrooms. The kitchen islands are granite. Granite is perfect, no staining.

I wouldn’t agree that granite is perfect. After five or six years ours looks perfect from a distance but has been cleaned with a kitchen spray by the cleaner that must have had bleach in it and is marked now. The best worktop I’ve ever had has been the old Formica or even the cheaper equivalent.

I had (scratched) Corian in my last house, now I have solid oak. It has to be oiled sometimes - but can always be refinished by sanding (either DIY or specialist) and wood is naturally antibacterial too.

Our kitchen islands: one had to be re-polished because the cleaner clouded a small 3x5cm area. Apparently the sealer was not properly applied at install, apart from that our granite is perfect over 20 years in.

Perhaps you could consider having worktops polished?
