You know the one- everything from jam pot covers to used batteries to rubber bands and picture hooks. The tape measure I can understand - but why the glasses case? I haven’t worn that pair for years.
I challenge you to reveal the contents of “the” kitchen drawer in your house!
(Kittylester is temporarily excusedgrin )

grin I have no idea where ours is!! But, I do know it contained bobbles (4 dgds) £1 coins, a pencil sharpener, a Rubic's cube, a dental mirror and forceps (?) and about 6 dice!

Ooh, and, sometimes a tape measure.

You put me to shame at least yours looks tidy mine is a fight to go into so I won’t reveal it!

Marydoll Sat 02-Sep-23 08:07:47

I have more than one of those. 😊

I have a “ drawer “ in most rooms not just the kitchen! 😩

Aldom Sat 02-Sep-23 08:26:00

Here's mine.

Mr i had what he called ‘the dribble draw’. I feel a bit guilty to confess -it is no more

Greyduster Sat 02-Sep-23 08:34:06

I don’t have one in the kitchen but am ashamed to say I have three in the dining room!!

I cleaned mine out a few weeks ago. Among the contents were:

safety pins
universal sink plug
fuse wire
spare plugs
spare fuses
comb
mapping pins and drawing pins
paper clips
elastoplasts
elastic bands
rawlplugs
two way adapters
continental adapters

I have another drawer full of screwdrivers and similar tools yet to be investigated.

Mine is huge and bottomless (a good 12 or more inches deep) Whatever goes into it doesn't see the light of day again for years because they are mostly redundant items no-one else could possibly want, that I don't need, but I can't bring myself to give or throw away ..

Juliet27 Sat 02-Sep-23 08:55:45

You’re not alone Maizie

henetha Sat 02-Sep-23 09:26:58

Mine is a disgrace. Needs tidying......

Kim19 Sat 02-Sep-23 10:06:23

Just glad the kitchen sink won't fit in!!

kittylester Sat 02-Sep-23 10:07:40

Found mine

toscalily Sat 02-Sep-23 10:07:41

Mine s not even a full size drawer so have to be selective, even so its packed, kitchen equipment books/guarantees, matches, glue pencils, pens, notelets, rubber bands/bag ties, freezer labels, two metal tape measures, his & hers (why?), can't remember what else but know there is more.

Calendargirl Sat 02-Sep-23 10:18:13

I have a plastic cutlery tray in my ‘messy’ drawer, which keeps things separate and reasonably tidy.

In no particular order…

Metal tape measures (2)
Batteries.
Calculator.
Scissors.
Tweezers.
Ruler.
Little glass jar with window keys and radiator key.
Small torch.
Penknife.
Small screwdrivers.
Free car fresheners from car wash place.

This is mine full of things I might just need - one day!

Kateykrunch Sat 02-Sep-23 10:29:08

I am almost proud to say that I only have 1 drawer in the whole of my kitchen, so of course, it just houses our cutlery. Yes, 1 drawer!

eddiecat78 Sat 02-Sep-23 10:58:42

Pipe cleaners (why?)
Washing machine transport bolts
Assorted cutlery and kitchen gadgets that I'll probably never use
2 child's paintbrushes
A few things that I can't actually identify

My kitchen drawer

lixy Sat 02-Sep-23 11:07:27

Not quite sure why I need the three pairs of 3D specs that are in mine, in addition to the pens, pencils string etc that are, of course, absolutely essential and will be useful......

merlotgran Sat 02-Sep-23 11:10:10

I no longer have a suitable draw as they’re all too deep so my bits and bobs get chucked in a redundant wooden fruit bowl which sits on a shelf in the broom cupboard.

merlotgran Sat 02-Sep-23 11:10:46

Suitable drawer.

Gardenersdelight Sat 02-Sep-23 11:26:29

The drawer of delights!

SueDonim Sat 02-Sep-23 12:27:56

Most of those photos are far too tidy to be considered junk drawers, as they’re known in this house! For a start, you’ve been able to open them. It’s not a junk drawer unless opening it involves contortions with your hand to move whatever is blocking it and much bad language. 😂
