Washing bio gel or quid in the drum

Bought a Beko washing machine and been using a gel or liquid detergent in a dosing ball into the drum, I’ve read it should always go in detergent drawer, I did this but there was residue left in the drawer.
What do others do.

I always use liquid detergent and put it in the drawer. Never had any problems.

In the drum, always have done, always will do.

Thankyou, that’s 1/1

Goes in the drum here. Seems more sensible to me.

Liquid in the drawer here. No problems.

I put it in the dispenser unless the product says not to.
Every so often I take the dispenser out and wash it.

I don't use bio products. Not sure if this is relevant.

liquid in an open ' cap' put on top of laundry. no gunged up pipes in dispenser drawer .

My washing machine is a Bosch self-dosing model so has the washing liquid and fabric conditioner poured directly into the 2 compartments in the drawer. Personally I find it makes extra work. The drawer needs removing for regular cleaning to remove residue and is difficult to dismantle for me. I have an engineer coming tomorrow as the fabric conditioner isn't being released into the drum. I am going to ask him about using a dosing ball. Easier all round.

In the drum. Simple.

I use capsules which I pop in the drum. I cannot remove the drawer. Another GN member used to use powder but it gunged up the pipes and machine so I think she is also using capsules.

I have very hard water so I pop in two, no dosing to bother about.

Do those of you who use capsules ever wonder where that plastic wrapping goes. It never goes its in our oceans forever 😥

Liquid in the drawer, no residue.

Liquid in the drawer along with a slug of Calgon or equivalent as we have very hard water here. We rinse the drawer after each use and seems to be OK so far.

We used to use powder but found it didn't dissolve completely and we ended up with cakes of hard powder in the outside drain - not a fun job to clear.

I don't use either because the EcoEgg works just fine for me and lasts 50 washes. And no soap scum left in the machine.

I no longer use liquid or gel but am trying Dr Beckmann's Magic Leaves.I have been pleased with them, easier to carry and to store.

I bought some of those to take on holiday. I now use them regularly. No box or bottle to recycle. Nice smell and clean well.

As do the fibres from any clothes you wash that aren’t made of 100%natural cloth.

Liquid and soda crystals in the drum on top of the load.

My plumber said it's conditioners that cause mould, both fabric conditioners in the drawer of the washing machine and hair conditioners in the shower.

The drawer does come out and can be soaked and cleaned quite easily.

Mine has a flip-up lid on the detergent side and sometimes I use powder so keep the lid flipped up.

Callistemon21 Wed 24-Apr-24 09:37:31

I don't use capsules either.

I have a Beko too. Liquid in the drawer. Gel in the drum. No problems.
