I use Vanish stick, wet the stick and wipe it liberally on the stain then wash as usual, it works every time.

For small blood stains that are still wet, spit does work but it has to be from the same human as the blood. I've just re-upholstered a chair and whilst smoothing the seat I caught my finger on something and left a large smear of blood right across it. I was told by tutor to spit on a small piece of the fabric and dab the stain away. It worked but just don't do it after drinking coffee or you have something else to remove. I think your stain is set, so annoying I've lost count of how many sheets I've got blood on because of being on blood thinners, just don't use the sheets for visitors.

Sunlight works for curry stains .......... Thankfully!

You could try a 50/50 mix of ammonia and water. Use a cotton wool ball (or white microfibre cloth) soaked in the ammonia mixture to blot the stain (use gloves). Let sit for a minute then rub in gently, changing the cotton ball/cloth and rewetting. If the stain will lift you should see traces on the cotton wool ball/cloth. You could try a soft tooth brush to rub if it's not lifting but that might cause the material to pill.

Launder in warm (not hot) water afterwards. I've done this successfully on a shirt but it depends on how set in the stain is. If you've tumbled it then it might be too late. Good luck.

Some people in our holiday let left pillow cases sheets and duvet covers covered in blood recently.

We used diluted bleach and soaked them overnight with a laundry capsule. Put the wash on next day ….. spotless!

I’ve just remembered hand sanitizer. I saw this work on marker pen stains. It’s alchemy 😁

I would put the sheet in the washing machine with Vanish. Let the machine run until it has dissolved, stop the machine and leave overnight and in the morning add a washing capsule or two. That works for most stains.

Biotex is what I used to soak nappies in, and that seemed good for organic type stains.

I also have nosebleeds and frequently have to deal with blood stained clothing and pillowcases. Ace Bleach is my recommendation. I pour it on the blood stain, it fizzes a bit, then it goes straight into the washing machine. I’m not sure it will work for you at this stage but it may be worth a try.

Try hydrogen peroxide, you can buy it in chemists and it is brilliant at getting all manner of stains out

Speaking as one with young grandchildren and a pale yellow sofa, I can confidently state that hairspray is brilliant for getting biro stains out of fabric!

I'd be more worried about the body being found 🤭

Soak in Cold salt water if it’s fresh blood, or use a stain remover designed to remove blood. I rate vanish bars for this

Neat Milton (or generic name) it's just bleach, but for some reason always works for me. Pour neat directly on to stain, leave five minutes, repeat if stain hasn't completely gone. Rinse.

My never fail remedy for any marks or stains is to rub washing liquid, Fairy, Bold etc directly into the stain then wash it in the usual way, never lets mecdown

It's too late now but I find the best remedy is to soak the offending article in cold water, then wash. Try spraying with WD40 crazy I know but may work.

I used to like these, particularly the one for rust, but haven't seen them for ages.

I use cold water , bleach , Vanish and biological detergents plus lots of soaking .
And avoid hot water .

At the moment , I'm battling with some tea stains on white sheets and they are proving hard to shift .

Elbow Grease spray applied before washing is unbelievably good. It may be too late if your bloodstain has set, but give it a try. It even gets out tomato sauce and baked beans stains- haven’t tried it on blood yet!

My grandson had a pillow with lots of old blood stains and it had been washed numerous times. I felt I had nothing to loose so I soaked it in domestos bleach mixed with hot water. After 2 days it came out spotless and to my surprise his blue embroidered name was still perfect.

Blood stains are iron mould. We used to use Borax on these stains including iron staining on the bath. I have not tried it recently and don't know how environmental friendly it is.
