Where to buy decent quality brushed cotton bedding (flannelette).

My brushed cotton bedding from the 1980s is still in good condition (albeit faded) but it doesn't fit the bed we have now. I can't spend a lot (didn't in the 80s either) but I've had a couple of false starts with sheets that were worn after one season (last winter). They seem to be so thin or shoddy now, only designed for a few washes.
In shops the bedding is generally packaged and you can't feel the quality. I did feel some Habitat ones through the package in Sainsburys this week and I could tell they were very thin.
Where can I get decent bedding (sheets, pillowcases & quilt covers) that don't cost the earth?

Just Linens on line have quality brushed cotton bedding at discount prices, also M and S sell good brushed cotton bedding.

I have found M& S brushed cotton sheets and duvet covers to be absolutely dreadful quality this year.Washed as they advise and they have came out the washing machine in a creased crumpled mess.Dunelm ones are far superior.

I buy mine from Dunelm. So far so good!

We have teddy bear sheets and duvet cover which I bought from next. DH wasn’t keen at first but a couple of weeks asked if it wasn’t time to bring it out again. The only problem is we don’t want to get out of bed in the morning too cosy.

I usually get mine from Dunelm

I recently got a lovely brushed cotton duvet cover from Habitat in Sainsburys, then got a sheet and extra pillow cases to go with from Dunelm. So cosy!

They are too hot for me but I have seen them in Dunelm.

I'm all for the Teddy fluffy stuff. So is my cat. 🤣

I bought M&S sets for our grandchildren's bedroom in the summer and they were beautiful and washed perfectly. Have since bought two more sets for the main bedrooms and ditto. The quality is excellent.

I bought some lovely fleece bedding from Cosy Home on QVC, when they were today's special value.
I wish I'd bought more but at the time I was concerned that I might be hot in them. I needn't have worried as they are lovely.

I bought some a few weeks ago from M&S and they are lovely

longpinknails: You're right about their quality they've gone from reliable with good quality products to charging the same for awful products. Thanks for the bedding warning.

If you're after good quality brushed cotton bedding (flannelette), I highly recommend checking out Dunelm or M&S. Dunelm has some great affordable sets that are surprisingly soft and cozy, especially for winter. M&S is a bit pricier but the quality holds up really well over time.

I’ve also had good luck with John Lewis—their flannelette bedding is super warm and feels luxurious without being too heavy. If you're browsing online, Wayfair and Amazon have loads of options, just be sure to check the reviews first.

Pro tip: you can find all this brand at shaggy rugs ltd
