Is matt white kitchen too ‘basic’

If you like it, choose it.

You have to look at it and live with it, and there is no point whatsoever in asking others for their opinions.

I would never choose an all white decor anywhere, but that is no reason why you should not like it.

I have a Matt finished kitchen which people did admire after it was completed 7 years ago. As long as you put a different coloured top. My son has recently had a new kitchen installed which is black with a white and black top, the same as my neighbours who have had their new kitchen for 2 years

I like white. My daughter has just gone for matt black whole thing, I've never seen a black kitchen before!

My daughter’s new kitchen has white quartz worktops which I find a nightmare. Terrified of chipping them or cleaning them with something that will damage them.

Very, very nice - but if you do make a curry, keep the turmeric away - it’s an unforgiving spice.

I love my light coloured Karndean kitchen floor. I do run the vacuum cleaner over it most days, and then use a Vileda 1-2-3 mop once a week to clean. Use Karndean's own cleaner in that mop. Always looks nice and clean. And is much warmer feel in the winter months . As I wanted to keep my fairly new white washing machine and dishwasher in my new kitchen, I kept to Gloss white units. Have found them marvellously easy to keep clean

I would go for porcelain, white seems too clinical to me.

That's why you have beautiful dishware and cookware!

My choice would be no 2 (white) for the doors
C for the floor (grey)

My kitchen has white units which have a slight gloss. Very easy to keep clean . I’ve got black speckled granite worktops and grey wood effect tiles . They look like planks of wood. I’ve added colour with the accessories .
We’ve flipped several properties and a white kitchen is easy to sell .

Yes, I have one and it's so easy to use. I use Method floor cleaner in it, but dilute it.

The other colour that was suggested was Porcelain. Its a kind of beige colour, but looks mushroomy/taupey . It looks sophisticated but seems a bit dull in our area. This is my best representation below, followed by the real thing. My husband thinks it looks a bit pink. The real thing is no 1 shown below.

I like D with the white doors.

We chose a colour called "champagne" for our cupboards which sounds a bit like your porcelain.
The supplier considered it to be a sort of off white. Actually it is a little on the pink side of very pale mushroom but warm in winter and cool and clean in the light.

I'd try the colour combinations at different times of day and also different parts of the kitchen and with lights on and off.

I'm sure whatever you choose you will be pleased to have done it.

Wondering if you have looked at speckled floors? You could have a white terrazzo?

Does a darker floor make the room look dark though as we have 16 square metres which is a lot to me (but i know probably not by todays mega kitchen standards).

I’ve got a wooden floor with white units in my kitchen, and it doesn’t look dark. I don’t think you need to go too dark, a light oak or medium grey colour would be nice for example, really just dark enough not to show every mark.

It looks lovely, you can have coloured pots, cups tea towels to add some colour even a big vase of flowers. White goes with anything, and anything goes with white!

My entire house is matt white because the windows are small and the ceilings low. I love white because every room has darker or brighter colours in furniture and soft furnishings. My kitchen has pine dresser, table and chairs but everything else is white.
Hold out against the crazy trend for black.

\We have just had the kitchen refitted with white units and white marble tops. I did intend to have the walls sage green, but couldn't find the right shade, so we opted to have them painted white in order to add colour later. However - we love it, and the various items around, cookbooks, flowers, pots and pans, crockery, pictures, give colour and interest. A white room on a sunny day is wonderful - and even when the sun isn't shining it is still bright and fresh.
