Self-cleaning glass on our conservatory roof. It was installed 15 years ago and my OH wonders when it’s going to start working 🤣

Sol De Janeiro BumBum cream - glorious fragrance, but way too £££
Delighted to find Superdrug have a fabulous dupe in a similar distinctive pot.

Dyson upright vac very disappointing. Awkward to use. Frequently needs emptying and fiddly to empty dust chamber.

Not even made in the UK now. SOrry Mr Dyson, I'm saving up for a Miele.

I used to like Dyson but, as many on here have said, they have become increasingly unreliable and unwieldy.

I agree that the unmade bed was art in that it was a unique physical depiction of a slice of someone's chaotic lifestyle. However, although it demonstrates a lively and creative mind, does it actually demonstrate skills that cannot be replicated by someone else? I don't think so, and for that reason I can't understand why these types of easily replicable works of art can command such enormous sums of money.

Yes, me too Sodapop. Also I resent the hours spent listening that I’ll never get back! grin

Always plenty of Dyson in the skip at the tip.

Indiebee Mon 14-Jul-25 18:34:37

Another Dyson disappointment here. Heavy and cumbersome albeit with a brilliant suck (!) In the end it had to go as my cleaner, in her thirties, began to be exhausted. I took it to the tip in the front seat of the car and had to ask one of the guys there to lift it up some treacherous steps into the electricals skip. It crashed in. A little blue Miele for me now - just as much power.

Aldi quite often have a dupe of that on sale (middle aisle bit).

Yet another Dyson hater here. Total waste of time and money but OH is a sucker for the hype. On our third !!!! I use cheap little rechargeable stick cleaner and love it ! Pretty sure I will be in minority but air fryers not for me either. Dont see the point. Borrowed my daughter’s but no hesitation in handing it back.

Dyson stick vacuum. Useless.Got a new charger. Still useless. However,I think I was unlucky because others seem to like them.

I have a 20 year old DC10. A local guy services it and it is still better that either DD or DIL machines. Tried the cordless in the shop - no thank you.

But have had 2 replacements of my Vax carpet washer too, and I have only 2 bedroom carpets!

G-Plan used to be a name, and I have a lovely mid-century dining set inherited from my mother, so when looking for a suite to last we chose this - the colour is wearing off the leather, the arms are sinking and the 4 seat cushions are not the same shape. It was about 3 x the price of others - recommend buying cheaper and replacing more often.

Made be laugh scrolling these messages I saw endless ads for Vivaia shoes. I bought some a couple of weeks ago, fortunately sale ones at half price. Even at that they are not worth it at all, the arch support is virtually non existent they feel cheap and no more comfortable than a cheap pair of ballet pumps.

TerriBull do you not explore the concept of abstract?

Allira Tue 15-Jul-25 10:01:35

Annewilko

Sydney Harbour Bridge. The Opera House on the other hand is stunning 😍

Sydney Harbour Bridge is iconic too; I love to see it.

Remember all the controversy about the Opera House, Annewilko? Yet that is one of the most recognisable buildings in the world, for all the right reasons too.

Some powers-that-be wanted to demolish The Rocks area of Sydney too, until there was a campaign to save it.

I only need to look around when DD is home to explore that!
😁

Shampoos that contain fibres to thicken the hair. They make no difference whatsoever.

nanna8 Wed 16-Jul-25 10:53:23

I don’t like Sydney Harbour bridge, either. Traffic jams, irritable drivers - horrible. The only worse one is our Westgate bridge in Melbourne. Too many crashes and blocked lanes. Another disappointment is the Little Mermaid in Copenhagen. Exactly as it says- little.

Approaching it by boat is the best way 😃

Like previous posters I fell for the hype surrounding Dyson cleaners. What a load of old rubbish it turned out to be on so many levels. James Dyson wants investigating by Trading Standards.
I now have a Shark which is a breath of fresh air and the Dyson has ended up in the electrical items skip at the recycling cycle where it belongs.

Sarnia Wed 16-Jul-25 11:09:29

centre not cycle. Sorry, grandchildren on school holidays so hard to concentrate!!!

I bought a Silent Night fan.
Silent it definitely is not
And it couldn’t fan away a moth.

Wayfair company.

I tune into silence to go to sleep - so I need a silent fan too. I've bought various things from that online company. I find it handy they have reviews (which I think are genuine.....?).

I decided on a ceiling light cum fan for my bedroom. First they ask you about what size of room it's going in and then that range comes up. I read my way through up to mid-price ceiling fans and thought "That's hopeful - that all the reviews are commenting on it being silent" and it's a German make too. So I bought that - and it is silent too - apart from at the highest speed (where there is a bit of sound).

Does my ex husband count?

Judy54 Wed 16-Jul-25 14:03:16

Yes Chocolatelovinggran He certainly does. How much did you pay for him?

Chocolatelovinggran Wed 16-Jul-25 15:45:39

Thank you.: far too much, Judy.
