Dyson vacuum cleaner. Cyclone? Could have fooled me - nothing to shout about but Sir Jim Dyson has been laughing like a drain all the way to the bank for years.

We also fell for the marketing rubbish many years ago. It never worked well and the filter blocked after every use.

Always plenty of Dyson in the skip at the tip.

The local electrical repair shop was always full of them too.

A Rigby & Peller bra that I was coerced into buying around 30 years ago from their West End boutique.
Cost a fortune but was the worst bra I've ever owned.

Ended up looking and feeling like a dish rag after only a few wears, despite hand washing as suggested on the label.

And the assistants were really snooty.

We (my daughters and I) used to have a once or twice yearly trip to the Rigby & Peller factory shop (until they weren't made there) and bought the most fabulous underwear.
I loved the beautiful and great fitting bras and bought one or two each for my daughters - they would invariably treat themselves to the briefs to match.

You can have Niagra and I'll have a new bra. grin

Face creams here too - watched Queen Camilla's beautician on Lorraine featuring her Nettle Venom facial and got sucked in and bought a little jar for £80 that smells awful and does nothing 😠

Cream from Camilla’s beautician!
Nothing against the woman, but do you really want to end up with skin like hers?😳

JdotJ I am really surprised, I have had never had a problem with Rigby & Peller bras or pants.

Oops sorry premature posting.

The staff in branch I have used are so kind and professional.

Kenwood Chef. It's very heavy which means it's good quality, I suppose.
However, the cake mix goes all up the sides of the bowl, it needs scraping down every few seconds and the mixer doesn't detach to use as a hand mix. The liquidiser attachment is good quality too but needs someone with muscles like Fatima Whitbread to lift it on and off.
I wish I'd bought another far less expensive make.

I love my Kenwood Chef! But it’s ancient, was a wedding present over 50 years ago. I know what you mean about having to scrape mixtures down, but I wouldn’t be without mine. Especially when making the annual lemon meringue pie for dh, it whisks up the egg whites like a dream.
