Expensive items that didn’t live up to the hype

A great many facial moisturisers, etc. I’ve spent a wee fortune over the years on expensive ones, but have been using Nivea products for a few years now and can honestly say my skin looks as good as it ever has overall. Yes, I have a few wrinkles/creases in my eye area but I’m fine with that at 70.

🤣🤣🤣 couldn’t we all produce a bed like that!

I’m with you on the books!
For me the one about crustaceans singing was a definite DNF. I like the opportunity to read a sample when buying on my Kindle, but even that’s no guarantee that the story won’t tail off into insipidity.

Tracey Emin's bed, which went to auction at Christie's for something in the order of £2,500,000. I could knock up a rumpled looking bed strewn with detritus well for an incy wincy fraction of the price. I mean why would anyone even want thatconfused

Bicarbonate of soda or washing soda would do the trick.

Oh very good, I do use this paste to clean my fridge, I shall try it in the soup maker to take away the odour 👍🏻

Not particularly expensive but the number of books that are hyped up and turn out to be absolute rubbish when I buy them. Still I fall for it,

Ninja soup maker that is supposed to self clean. I still end up cleaning it with soap & hot water but still smells- wondering whether to soak it in Water & Milton?
