Can anyone recommend a washing liquid that does the job with out having to soak before washing.

I use Smol stain remover smol.com/uk/products/stain-gel

It's vegan friendly and bleach free and the bottle is re fillable.

No. Nothing works like the good old green soap did. Tried lots. I now use a cheap bar soap which does a reasonable job.

Like MT62 I use a Vanish soap bar. It's easy to use and to put directly on to the stained area. A bar is cheap (last for ages) and it's a product which isn't in (yet another) plastic bottle! (Just has simple packaging which can be recycled in a supermarket "plastic bags" bin.) I buy them in bulk online & I have found single bars for sale in "pound shops". Works very well, in my experience.

LallyLou, I buy Ace from Amazon and Robert Dyas also sell it. I am sure you could probably find it in some of the supermarkets.

I’m with other posters that washing up liquid gets most, especially food related, stains out. But it does depend on the stain and how long it’s been sitting there. Good luck whatever you choose 🤞

Never found vanish any good. I rub soap in to the stain as soon as I can. For lighter clothes I use Napisan in the wash.

Lally. ACE bleach is in supermarkets. I buy it from Sainsbury's.

There's a new thing called the Stain Stick (I think) trouble is it looks too good to be true, so probably is. I'm sure it only costs about £10 but if it doesn't work then that's expensive.

Elbow grease from B&M and probably other shops is brilliant at getting a whole host of stains out. It’s good for yellowing around necklines on whites from face creams and sun lotion etc too. Also vanish spray or soap is very good.

Near milk will remove Boro marks. Does need quite a bit of dabbing.

If there’s a stain I pour (original) green Fairy Liquid on it then wash the item inside out

Vanish gold. Fantastic stuff. Never let me down yet!!

I find any washing up liquid poured neat onto the stain does the trick as long as I leave it for about five minutes before putting it into the machine.

Home Bargains sells Ace.

A spray of Elbow Grease is my go-to, especially on my little DGS’ clothes.
