Fridge freezer worries

Hello everyone.
My fridge freezer has broken down. It's ancient and honestly doesn't owe me a penny.
The thing is that my house is a converted cottage. The living room and Kitchenette are upstairs. I need to order online because of back pain and mobility problems.
Does anyone know if firms like John Lewis will take it upstairs for me ? They do take away the old freezer and packaging. But it's the stairs that are causing me worry.
I ordered a chair last year from a firm and they wouldn't carry it upstairs despite being aware of the house set up. Took me months to get a refund.
I know I sound pathetic but if things can go wrong they tend to do so for me.
I am completely on my own so no help with lifting etc.
Thank you if anyone can help.

Hi,We are in a first floor flat .John Lewis brought my fridge freezer upstairs, removed the packaging and put it in place. As long as you tell them beforehand that it's a flight of stairs, they can be prepared.

Had a few things delivered and installed in the kitchen if my first floor flat. Washing Machine, Gas Cooker and Fridge Freezer over to he past few years by Currys

Up a fight of 15 stair steps.

I have found Currys goods to well priced. They offer a reliable and efficient service with reasonable delivery charges. They will also take your old item way for a small charge.

I am in my seventies, live by myself and have arthritis, joint problems and limited mobility and that is why Currys will deliver to my first floor flat

So if you do buy anything from them. Let them know. Always give the delivery men a small tip.

Haven't bothered with John Lewis for years. Big problems with the quality and delivery of a Cooker.

Like Marks and Spencer..They are not what they used to be.

Welbeck, are Marks Electrical in Leicester a nationwide company ? If not then it won’t be helpful for most of the readers on this site although most areas will have a very good company local people can rely on.

Instead of John Lewis online do you have a JL store near you? If so you can ring them and ask if they have the fridge freezer in stock and will they deliver upstairs for you? I always order from their nearest store rather than online. I also pay to have the old one taken away while they are there.

I have found Marks Electrical to be very good with competitive prices and good delivery. They do have a telephone number with a real person to ask. Again a delivery fee and you pay to take old item away.

Makes you wonder hw people manage in upside down houses.
