Nina I used to shop at Cosyfeet for their make-it-yourself kits, but I have moved on to DB.

Elegran Fri 29-Mar-13 09:57:36

If you get them to send you a catalogue there is one printed in that.

Tegan Fri 29-Mar-13 09:51:21

Forgot to say I am looking into those shoes/boots mentioned; the DB boots look very promising Elegran but I can't print off the width guide [no printer]. Am going to phone them for advice.

Sorry I don't know what your "foot problem" is but I shop for my mum at cosyfeet.com. Sorry I can't do links on my phone.

Elegran Thu 28-Mar-13 11:26:48

DH bought a pair of the men's ones, Jo - very supportive and comfortable and did not look like carpet slippers. He could wear them outside for short walks round the block, too.

j08 Thu 28-Mar-13 10:01:49

I like the idea of house shoes on that website Elegran. Probably more supportive than slippers.

Elegran Thu 28-Mar-13 08:13:19

Tegan Have you tried DB shoes from here They are now the only shoes and boots I buy, since I found they fitted my feet so well, and did not look like herring boxes. I was fed up with all those firms selling "wide fit" shoes that fitted like a victorian corset and still managed to look awful.

PS - I have no connection with the firm, I just buy them.

Ariadne Thu 28-Mar-13 07:35:33

Tegan I too have real feet problems, and these days I rely on my Ecco boots; I have two pairs on the go at the moment - one with a furry lining (well worn). bothe have soles with a good grip. (Think I've told you about my boot collection elsewhere,)

The right footwear liberates women....

Tegan Mon 25-Mar-13 12:56:59

Even second hand on ebay needing repairs they cost a fortune sad. But I've got such awful feet that they're making me almost house bound [can't wear trainers everywhere, and even the trainers I buy cost @ £80]. Got cupboards full of shoes that I've never been able to wear [even though they felt fine in the shop]. The S.O. says he'll give me some money towards them as an early birthday present.

Out of curiosity I looked at the on-line catalogue, Tegan and am now in need of resuscitation and a lie-down in a darkened room. shock

I used to have dub array broga sailing shoes. They were great!

Tegan Mon 25-Mar-13 12:19:17

Does anyone have any Dubarry boots? I'm thinking of investing in a pair as I'm fed up of being stuck at home when the weather is bad. I've replaced my old wax jacket with one that should now outlive me but my feet are always a problem. Tried on some Dubarry Galway boots last week and they didn't hurt my feet [hurrah] but scared to pay a fortune only to find they hurt after a while. Want boots that have plenty of grip when it's icy and that are warm. They seem ideal but are seriously pricey.

janthea Mon 25-Mar-13 12:06:54

I have bright red HUNTER wellies!! grin

absent Mon 25-Mar-13 12:00:39

j08 Yes I did know what you meant, but always talking about it is immensely boring. [Blackwall-Tunnel-size yawn emoticon]

j08 Mon 25-Mar-13 11:33:20

absent! You know quite well what I mean! grin Money provides food. And care, come to that.

annodomini Mon 25-Mar-13 11:14:47

Do you remember Billy Connolly's big banana boots?

absent Mon 25-Mar-13 10:36:58

Or eating ISAs or money?

absent Mon 25-Mar-13 10:36:02

j08 How long have you been eating wellies?

j08 Mon 25-Mar-13 10:24:45

Walking boots are better in the snow. More grip.

j08 Mon 25-Mar-13 10:24:01

Frank just ut of interest, what adverts do you get along the top of GN? wink grin

j08 Mon 25-Mar-13 10:21:19

Anyone who finds wellies more interesting than money is daft.

Sorry. #can'teatwellies

j08 Mon 25-Mar-13 10:20:17

I haven't seen any cash isas that pay a better rate than an ordinary savings account. Everything is as bad as the rest at the moment. And likely to stay that way. (grumble grumble)

I think stocks and shares ones are best, so long as you have someone who can manage them for you. (unless, of course, you are a financial whizz yourself)

Anne58 Mon 25-Mar-13 09:59:46

I wish I had footwear that turned into vegetables.

I don't think you will be able to get new boots if you pass a shop*Frank*. In my experience you have to actually go in.

Hope this helps.

HUNTERF Mon 25-Mar-13 09:11:20

My wellingtons are plain black, uninteresting and have just started to leek.
I have got walking boots which are better on the snow so I am not going out in the snow to replace them but I will get some more when I pass a shop.
