Frank I think most gransnetters are already aware that ISAs are tax-free investments.

Or maybe they are capable of investing their own money without extra help.

And besides, Wellingtons are much more interesting than ISAs.

My wellingtons are plain black, uninteresting and have just started to leek.
I have got walking boots which are better on the snow so I am not going out in the snow to replace them but I will get some more when I pass a shop.

I haven't seen any cash isas that pay a better rate than an ordinary savings account. Everything is as bad as the rest at the moment. And likely to stay that way. (grumble grumble)

I think stocks and shares ones are best, so long as you have someone who can manage them for you. (unless, of course, you are a financial whizz yourself)
