Orca grin

janeainsworth Mon 25-Mar-13 08:06:31

Orcagrin
Personally I prefer these as favoured by the Duchess of Cambridgegrin

absent Mon 25-Mar-13 08:10:34

Janeainsworth Expensive though. Is the quality such that they don't spring a leak for some years? If so, then they might be worth it.

janeainsworth Mon 25-Mar-13 08:13:16

I've had mine for at least 15 years Absent and they get a lot of use.
Can't pretend I look as elegant as the DoC in them thoughgrin

Orca Mon 25-Mar-13 08:14:19

Couldn't bring myself to wear a ladies welly!

absent Mon 25-Mar-13 08:15:07

Sounds good to me Janeainsworth. I might give them a try. And I am sure you look every bit as elegant as the D of C insofar as anyone can look elegant in them.

janeainsworth Mon 25-Mar-13 08:18:20

grin You haven't seen me in my gardening attire absent

There we are.
Most Gransnetters must be rich if they are not interested in gaining a bit of interest on their savings.

Frank

Bez Mon 25-Mar-13 08:53:26

Or maybe they are not rich enough to have spare money for any form of savings

janeainsworth Mon 25-Mar-13 08:54:05

Frank I think most gransnetters are already aware that ISAs are tax-free investments.

absent Mon 25-Mar-13 08:57:24

Or maybe they are capable of investing their own money without extra help.

absent Mon 25-Mar-13 08:57:49

And besides, Wellingtons are much more interesting than ISAs.

HUNTERF Mon 25-Mar-13 09:11:20

My wellingtons are plain black, uninteresting and have just started to leek.
I have got walking boots which are better on the snow so I am not going out in the snow to replace them but I will get some more when I pass a shop.

Frank

Anne58 Mon 25-Mar-13 09:59:46

I wish I had footwear that turned into vegetables.

I don't think you will be able to get new boots if you pass a shop*Frank*. In my experience you have to actually go in.

Hope this helps.

j08 Mon 25-Mar-13 10:20:17

I haven't seen any cash isas that pay a better rate than an ordinary savings account. Everything is as bad as the rest at the moment. And likely to stay that way. (grumble grumble)

I think stocks and shares ones are best, so long as you have someone who can manage them for you. (unless, of course, you are a financial whizz yourself)

j08 Mon 25-Mar-13 10:21:19

Anyone who finds wellies more interesting than money is daft.

Sorry. #can'teatwellies

j08 Mon 25-Mar-13 10:24:01

Frank just ut of interest, what adverts do you get along the top of GN? wink grin

j08 Mon 25-Mar-13 10:24:45

Walking boots are better in the snow. More grip.

absent Mon 25-Mar-13 10:36:02

j08 How long have you been eating wellies?

absent Mon 25-Mar-13 10:36:58

Or eating ISAs or money?

annodomini Mon 25-Mar-13 11:14:47

Do you remember Billy Connolly's big banana boots?

j08 Mon 25-Mar-13 11:33:20

absent! You know quite well what I mean! grin Money provides food. And care, come to that.

absent Mon 25-Mar-13 12:00:39

j08 Yes I did know what you meant, but always talking about it is immensely boring. [Blackwall-Tunnel-size yawn emoticon]
