I do like LIDL and go there occasionally.

I was very snobbish for years about Aldi. It took me one visit 18 months ago to realise my foolishness. My neighbour still wont use them as (a) they don't deliver and (b) they "are so downmarket".No points to collect so no letters through the door urging you to spend more, no lists to be on, good reliable quality, win win every time.

Don't know about Aldi - don't think they have any stores in London.

If Tesco is "low rent" does that mean Aldi is "in a cardboard box"

For the life of me I can't fathom how Tesco is so successful - always seems so 'low-rent'

Even if it were the nearest supermarket I wouldn't go there.

I've just ordered a coffee machine from Tesco direct reduced to £39.00 from £99.00 and I was given the option to deduct my points, which are held online but which had built up over this last 18 months.

Result the Krups DeGusta cost me £4.....can't be bad! plus free pick up from my local store tonight.

I avoid the points like poison.

DunHumby the clever folk that thought up this scam, Tesco make money and so do DH as they can sell on all your info to increase their coffers.

Sorry to be cynical, but all the information you disclose is swishing around for scamsters to get hold of.

We rarely answer the phone now unless the caller uses a recognised to them and us ringing mode.

Email for us is the way to go , unless you live in Kintyre, poor SOOP

Luckily I have a Tesco nearby and I reckon I can save money on the'bargain' area

No coupons for me this time or last two times.yesterday DHspent ten pounds and got five pound off forty next time. I spent sixty and got nothing. I guess they give them to people who are not likely to use them. Good old Tesco!

Not Tesco coupons and vouchers, but the John Lewis coffee and cake ones that I am missing. DH, who receives his vouchers, doesn't shop in Waitrose, or use his My Waitrose card, except for a free coffee. I couldn't understand why, after I used to get them regularly, that they no longer appear for me. So I emailed John Lewis, and received the answer that "they are sent out to a limited amount of customers who are selected at random." . Not good JL, must try harder.

Alas, you're probably being too good and reliable a customer; if you don't shop with them for a while maybe the vouchers will return [loyalty doesn't count for much these days]. I seem to be the same with John Lewis vouchers..hit and miss as to whether I get a 'free coffee and cake' one.

I'd never noticed to be honest.
Thinking about it I didn't get coupons last time.
