Winter Fuel Allowance

My WFA has been paid into my account today.

Not had it yet. I can’t remember when it arrived last year. I pay £200 ground rent on my flat which is due white soon after it usually arrives so they cancel one another out .

No letters here yet. Seems we’re way back in the queue.

I missed my £300 by a week
Don't know if my £200 is in the bank as I've no way of checking unless I ring them up. When the local post office closed down in March I was stumped as I used to get a balance from their ATM----now I just guess and hope for the best until I receive a paper balance.

Not had mine yet. This will be my first year. Do you normally receive a letter prior to the payment arriving in the bank?

Never received the allowance as France is not considered cold enough.

Grannynannywanny, you should have a letter informing you that the WFA is going to be paid into your account. As has been said, it is probably paid in alphabetical order, mine has yet to arrive. But letter states that if not received by 23rd December then contact them.
Next year, if it continues I should be entitled to the £300 payment.

The Warm Home Discount is £140,00 paid directly to your energy supplier. It is only paid to those in receipt of certain benefits, main one is Guaranteed Pension Credit. Mine has already been paid to EDF and take off my account.

Up to a week ago I just had the £10 but not the £200 as yet. This is according to my bank statements. It may have arrived this week, I don't know. Without phoning I wouldn't know.

We’ve had the letter, no money yet, but some years the money has gone in quite a bit before we receive the letter.

I got my letter today, OH isn’t old enough. It says it will be paid before 23rd December.

It is not alphabetical as the postman delivered the letters for both me and my OH at the same time. Surnames begin with E and P.
We received £100 each whereas if he wasn’t living here as my “bidie in” we would each receive £200. I had a moan about it so he’s taking me for lunch tomorrow, last chance before lockdown.?

But that is reasonably fair. If you are living together then you share the heating. It does not cost much (if any) extra to heat the same home for two of you than for one. So, the amount is the same.
I think it is the payments (not the letters) that are made alphabetically. But not sure. Usually, the same time as the £200 goes into my bank so does the £10 Xmas box!, designed, originally, to aid me to enjoy some extra treats over the festive season.

It seems to be late this year, or is it just us?

I received the letter yesterday and it states if payment not arrived by Dec 31st to contact them.
