E.ON

I have been with E.ON for many years. I have tried researching alternative energy suppliers, but as I pay at the Post Office and changing suppliers seems so complicated; I've stuck with E.ON. Plus I don't pay for anything online, and of what I understand a lot of energy suppliers only operate that way.

My bills have been getting higher and higher, where I have now written to E.ON asking them to investigate how they have charged me; it's incredulous that on my bill it actually states that I am on the lowest tariff - last bill £444.44 doesn't say so. They have stopped sending someone round to read my meter for quite some time now, even before Lockdown - but they still send someone round to my Mum's house to read her meter. Plus I filled in a Warmfront form a long time ago for supposedly cheaper bills, as I am on ESA benefits for being on long-term sickness; hasn't made any difference.

OP, have you looked into Octopu, they get v good reviews, and you can pay by cash at PayPoint.
i prefer to ring up with my debit card, and they do that too.
i am going to look into them further.

I moved to Octopus - as previously explained my gas meter does not exist on the National Grid but EON have charged me an extortionate amount for 5 years. I can't move because there is no trace of me having gas! Butni moved electric to Octopus pay £144 a month. Anyway i seemed to build up a lot of credit i asked for a payment hol due to self isolating a few months ago and again one for August because of self isolating again. They are also giving me a refund of £144 and i will still have a £200 buffer on my account.
Verdict EON are awful.
Octopus are ok but a bit of a fath with emails i did get £50 for moving to them.
Look on Martin Lewis and see who he recommends.
I really feel for you OP it can be hard and frustrating to navigate and sometimes you have had enough to face dealing with this stuff. But cost wise it will be worth doing.
