I think , this year I might be eligible to receive a Winter Fuel Payment according to www. govuk dates .( born before 25th Sept 1957)But according to my Scottish Power advisory leaflet the qualifying date is born before 26th Sept 1955 . If I qualify it should come through automatically ?
Then there's the Warm Discount Scheme which appears to come from your supplier but you have to be in receipt of some benefits - you have to apply for this ? Am I correct ? smile

Has anyone seen the vitriol on mumsnet about pensioners being paid lots of money for heating that they don't need when they're struggling with inflation etc? It's quite upsetting given that I only became a home owner because I lived on fresh air and wore second hand clothes. Ran old cars and didn't take the children abroad until they were in their mid teens. And we ate out once a year as a special treat paid for by a family friend who didn't have children.

I haven’t seen it MayBee as I don’t do Mumsnet, but that’s a sad state of affairs. Things have changed so radically since we were young parents and many parents these days don’t understand just how hard it was for many in our generation when we were younger.
