Has everyone received a letter from Dwp regarding WFP?

This morning l received a letter regarding eligibility for the Winter Fuel Payment. l expect "my Dove" will get his tomorrow. If they send every eligible person a letter, what a waste of money. The Government departments know who is " paperless" because you opt in. What is the point of doing that if they still send you paper communications as well. Mind you l didn't get any communication, paper or digital, regarding the change in my pension age when it mattered. No wonder the country is short of money.

Not received one yet, neither of us, but we’re not bothered because we know what’s happening and we won’t be due to any benefits.

I’m surprised that the WFP is means tested. It is not based on need ie medical conditions etc

People with medical issues, presumably will be claiming PIP.
(Whether they'll be awarded it is a whole thread of it's own, though)

I think it’s a legal requirement to ensure everyone is notified. And they can’t send a joint one to couples for fear of breaching confidentiality rules.

Yes. Mine might as well have said ‘You are not going to get it’.

Nope, we're not. Even with a work-related chronic lung problem and letters from a consultant, DH was refused a blue badge. He says he'd rather not bother than plead.

Disgusting!
There is no other word for that.

My mum cried her eyes out, thinking she was accused of lying, when she was turned down.
She pleaded with me not to appeal as she felt so humiliated.

I think they rely on a percentage of people reacting that way.

I think they have to. Look at the issues caused by NOT sending out letters to all the women born between 1952 and 1955. Which they should have done.

My letter came this morning 🙂

Allira it is how it is worded. I have a Blue Badge and I now have the higher rate Attendance Allowance, the first amount was paid a week ago. It took me weeks to fill in the 30+ pages of c**p.

I must get in touch with a friend whose daughter filled it in on her behalf as she is registered blind but I have a nasty feeling she may be unsuccessful because the words fine and independent were used frequently.

Allira if you want help and/or pointers please get in touch.

All's well that ends well, thank you, thanks to our local Councillor.

Nothing yet - so, does that mean I’m not entitled or am entitled to WFP ?
