I have seven grandchildren, aged between 8 and 22, distributed unequally among my children. I want to give away some money now, rather than wait until I die. At present, when I die, the money ( it’s not a large amount) will go to my children, so I was thinking of just doing the same now, but my friend said she didn’t think that was fair, as one son and his wife have no children ( their choice)
What do you think?

I would have thought your family who have no children would understand as you mentioned you intend to leave your grandchildren money so what you give them has nothing to do with your direct offspring other than they are their offsprings.

You do as you want!
On your death your children will all get the same! (Or maybe not) -
The money you are gifting now is for the children not the parents!
Cruel comment from your frienf

I have 2 children. One has no children and that won't change. She does however have one stepson.
My other child has four children and one has 2 children of her own.
I have given each grandchild and my step grandson 1k each at 18.
The rest of my estate including my home will be divided equally between my 2 children. Its up to them if they wish to pass some of the money on to their family.
They both know that this is the arrangement in my will as they are executors
