Tuliptree I have also felt the other side of gazundering when I was dealing with a relations estate. The buyer for her house was gazundered the day before exchange and gave the gazunderer their come uppance by refusing to take the lower offer and withdrawing from the sale. Which left us having to find another buyer, in a poor market. However I was in complete agreement with our buyer's action
And, of course, in our case, the gazunderer who was, at the last minute, trying to cut the price of the house we bought, also got a nasty surprise, when their seller promptly turned them down and withdrew from the sale. They had spent money on surveys, solicitors fees, searches etc etc and would have to start all over a gain - and all as the result of gazundering by just £5,000. I doubt they did this on the next house they tried to buy.
