Midlands meet up

Feeling very envious that Scottish Grannies have got themselves organised.
Are there any grannies within striking distance of a Midlands centre who would like to do the same? I am in Milton Keynes but trains to Brum are frequent and fast. Any takers?

I'm NOT coming from Bristol!

I'll be driving and parking on the edge of Brum as I'm going to the theatre in the evening. I would be happy to meet anyone who doesn't know the way or needs any other kind of help. Just let me know and I'll meet you anywhere in Brum as I am very flexible on time.

Hubby forgot (as per usual) that I was going to Brum on Saturday, now he`s gone all grumpy (also as per usual), saying he doesn`t know why I`m effing bothering. If he keeps on like this, I may have to back down and not come, I need him to take me to, and pick me up from, the station.

crimson Tue 02-Oct-12 17:11:07

If he's behaving like that all the more reason to come!

numberplease Tue 02-Oct-12 17:37:13

He can make life very unpleasant though, if he`s a mind to, which is quite often.

JessM Tue 02-Oct-12 17:58:15

Awww. number

glitabo Tue 02-Oct-12 18:06:16

Oh dear

soop Tue 02-Oct-12 18:08:25

number I feel very sad for you. To miss the gathering will be such a shame. flowers

numberplease Tue 02-Oct-12 18:17:55

I`ll probably still go, but he won`t be happy.

jeni Tue 02-Oct-12 18:26:19

Don't you dare not come!

crimson Tue 02-Oct-12 18:30:47

I don't think the S.O. is all that keen on me going, which is why nothing will stop me turning up on Saturday wink.

jeni Tue 02-Oct-12 18:31:26

Selfish Bs

petallus Tue 02-Oct-12 18:42:40

Well my DH is quite keen for me to go but if he wasn't it certainly wouldn't stop me.

numberplease I do hope you manage to get there in spite of your Hubby. Sounds like emotional blackmail/intimidation. Forgive me if I'm wrong.

Ella46 Tue 02-Oct-12 19:07:10

crimson Just turn the tv on and he won't even notice! grin

gracesmum Tue 02-Oct-12 19:11:33

Ladies - do we have lives or not? DHs can surely cope without us for a day? We all sound independent ladies - come on!!!

glitabo Tue 02-Oct-12 19:21:03

We are wearing the suffragette colours after all.

I do sympathise withyou numberplease. My ex could make life very uncomfortable if he so chose, but I do hope that you do manage to get there.

I do realise that there are advantages in living on ones own. smile

jeni Tue 02-Oct-12 19:26:22

Has anybody told the tv and the evening post about it?
Is anyone from GNHQ coming? If not why not?

glitabo Tue 02-Oct-12 19:30:41

I thought that GNHQ were buying the first round.

gracesmum Tue 02-Oct-12 19:38:38

But of course. Geraldine....!

gracesmum Tue 02-Oct-12 19:39:28

Seriously - all at GNHQ would be very welcome, but I suspect they are in London?

CariGransnet (GNHQ) Tue 02-Oct-12 20:09:38

We are indeed in London (although some of us are very proud to be from the North grin)

Actually we would absolutely love to come along and meet everyone. Practically I suspect it is not going to be possible this time (someone has to keep going on the exercise bike to power the forums)

We will be there in spirit if not in body though

glassortwo Tue 02-Oct-12 20:12:36

cari get Geraldine to organise a grand meet up and we can all come and meet you all.

CariGransnet (GNHQ) Tue 02-Oct-12 20:15:45

Now that IS a plan!

glassortwo Tue 02-Oct-12 20:25:57

Great plan wink

jeni Tue 02-Oct-12 20:26:38

I suggested that in the first place! The small regional ones are a starter!
REMEMBER?

glassortwo Tue 02-Oct-12 20:36:25

I remember jeni wink
