National Meetup anyone interested?

I have been nagging hinting to Geraldine about the possiblity of a National Meetup and this is her reply...........

glassortwo I did spot your hint about a national meetup and we'd love to do this.

It's just a question of how/where - but we are keen and we're looking into venues and how best to organise it.

Think it's a brilliant idea and we will make it happen this year - just a question of working out how.

If anyone has any thoughts about what (where) they'd like, we would of course be grateful for suggestions.

Hi ladies. If you are coming to Blackpool the illuminations will be on from 30th August to 10th November. There will be some good deals available midweek in October, except for the half term week. November should not be a problem. For those who would be staying I could probably negotiate some discounts for attractions such as Blackpool Tower. Do hope you can come! smile

I can't remember his name Elegran...Roderick? Broderick? It was on another thread, someone from GNHQ said he was a good organiser of events and would get started on the national meet up when he returned from his honeymoon.

Please make it october then I will be in England and should be able to come.How exciting.
Perhaps we could get it sponsored - a hotel chain, and wine merchant would be good. Maybe beauty treatments, fashion stylists.
Or shall we just have a good chat and a laugh?

Why not consider 2 National meet-ups. South and North. That would make it available to many GN-ers who are not able to do long-distance travel for whatever reason. Two different dates would then open options up further.
Anyone think this is a good idea?

I do Butty. I might not even be in UK to fit in with a National Meetup,although I will be in the south in around October/November.Although I really want to meet all the Northern Grans I know it would be unrealistic for me to be able to add the extra time and expense to my travels. Having said that it is a completely personal view and I feel a bit of a wimp for not keeping up with those in the North prepared to travel long distances.
