Winters Gibbet near Eglingham, we can all picnic in the woods and have photos taken by the gibbet. Very cheerful.

Yes please and flexible about dates. No car so somewhere easy for public transport - live in Newcastle

moomin Mon 16-Jun-14 09:12:10

I'm home from my holiday, reasonably flexible re dates

Stansgran Mon 16-Jun-14 10:08:03

I'll say no now as it's always a date when I'm awaysadenvy

harrigran Mon 16-Jun-14 11:14:16

Would love to say yes but at the moment I don't know. I will keep an eye on the thread in case I can manage.

gillybob Mon 16-Jun-14 12:08:15

That would be fantastic glass but like others have said it would depend on days/dates. I am not availble between Monday 23rd June and Saturday 3rd July, but don't mind me if those dates are better for everyone else.

Newcastle is probably the easiest place for everyone to get to by train, bus, car, metro etc. Happy to go with the flow though. smile

glassortwo Mon 16-Jun-14 12:34:46

I am going to suggest Friday 5th July as a starting point, post yes or a suggestion of what is convenient smile then we will try for location wink

gillybob Mon 16-Jun-14 12:47:01

I think we both have our calenders upside down glass shock

Friday is 4th July and I will not be available until the following week (Friday 11th ) sad

Never mind if that date suits everyone else, go for it ! smile

glassortwo Mon 16-Jun-14 13:04:07

Oh dear dont know where I have been looking, ok Friday 11th hmm

janeainsworth Mon 16-Jun-14 13:42:50

Friday 11th good for me but not Friday 4th!
Happy to go anywhere smile

gillybob Mon 16-Jun-14 13:46:21

Friday 11th ideal for me too glass and jane .

smile

moomin Mon 16-Jun-14 14:53:32

Friday 11th is OK for me smile
As is Newcastle, which as gilly says would probably be convenient for all? But I'm happy with anywhere within reason!

ayse Wed 18-Jun-14 11:21:24

gillybob Wed 18-Jun-14 12:03:48

Bump!

Here are a couple of suggestions for a venue:

1. Pani's Cafe on High Bridge, just off Grey St and a short walk from the Monument. Cheap, cheerful & noisy. Great food.
paniscafe.co.uk/menu/daytime/

2. The new Jamie Oliver Italian, just by the Monument.
www.jamieoliver.com/italian/restaurants/newcastle

not been there so can't vouch for it.

Any more ideas?

Stansgran Mon 23-Jun-14 13:19:39

I love Pani's but it's impossible to have a conversation with more than two people IMO. The noise is very Italian I'm going to try out Jamie's tomorrow. Will add my 5 penny worth afterwards.

glassortwo Mon 23-Jun-14 14:47:30

Looking good. I am on my phone so will check in later smile

Thats no good if we cant have a natter, we usually drowned out everyone else grin

I need to go back to the original thread and see who is missing then we need to get down to the nitty gritty.will do it tomorrow.

numberplease Tue 24-Jun-14 02:03:00

Wish I could come!

janeainsworth Tue 24-Jun-14 09:33:53

Panis is not too noisy early on at lunchtime. If we got there about 12 we could get a biggish table in the corner and we wouldn't be too affected by other people.
But I will go with the flow smile
Number I wish you could come too!

Jamies restaurant is upstairs and they may have a lift but I didn't see one.very busy .a bottle of rose is £17 . Just saying. Very good atmosphere.
