Birmingham meet up....

So pleased to see your posts. Blinko and Hellobaby and I managed to find each other in spite of no GN sign on the table.We had a good chat over various teas and hope to meet each other, and hopefully all 3 of you, next time. Either June 8th or 22nd are possibilities, both Thursdays.

MawBoon, I'd no idea you were in the Midlands, assumed you were north of the border! I gave your regards to the floozie, she still has no water in her jacuzzi but looks out coyly from some exotic plants and so has also been called the flirt in the dirt!

Aargh! NOT 23rd April ...
So sorry: tomorrow, 13th April, at least one other GNetter and I will be in the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery Edwardian Tearoom. A sign with GN will be on our table.

This Thursday 23th April I'll be in the Art Gallery tea room from 11am with a GN on my table. Hoping to meet a few local GNs there.

The skiffle session was cancelled due to the weather. The 6-5 Specials are going to let me know when there's something local and I'll put it on here.

Would have loved to have joined you but didn't know about it.

So how was Monday's meet up? Hope all went well? Afraid the OH and I are still off the hooks.

I hope you soon feel better, it's so cold! The sharp wind this morning twice caused me to need my angina spray, unused for several weeks.

Sounds great but not sure if I will be sufficiently recovered by Monday. Suffering from a severe Winter cold. 10 days and counting...

Next Monday afternoon I'm going to hear the Gransnetters in The 6.5 Specials playing their skiffle in Alvechurch, Worcestershire. Looking forward to meeting them and hearing their music of my youth! Anyone else able to come?

Galen, do you get assistance at stations? A fellow passenger was met by a very helpful man at Stoke who also carried my luggage for me and deposited us both in the First Class waiting room. Might be interested, is the station now more disabled friendly? It was a mess last time I used it.

I don't think so but a Spring trip to the big JL would be a great idea - I'll come if the date fits in.

Ooh, hello, I've just discovered this thread. I live near Wolverhampton and would love to meet some other GNers face to face. Birmingham is easy for me, so I hope it'll be ok if I join the next gathering. Is anything planned so far this year?

I'm planning to visit my home town on a regular basis, especially now that the new station is so 'idiot proof' and there's [hopefully] less chance of me getting on the wrong train. As I was watching the screen telling me which platform to go to [kept saying TBC] I said to the young lad stood next to me who was getting very very bored that 'the train has arrived, according to the screen, but they don't seem to know where it is' to which his dad added 'it must be platform something or other [y'know, the Hogwarts one]'' 'really?' said the lad, his eyes lighting up, so me and his dad said 'could be '.

Not necessarily! You'd have had at least one more if it had been a Wednesday or Friday

Good to meet you both again, nice small group so easy to chat but it would also be good to meet more Gns next time. Would more come if we met in All Bar one?
