Inspired by the Edinburgh meet up I thought I would suggest a London one say around mid summer- is anyone interested?

alchemillamollis Thu 11-Feb-16 15:18:28

Both dates are fine, as long as it's lunch not tea or dinner. I have an early evening commitment on Tuesdays.

Greenfinch Thu 11-Feb-16 11:10:52

Both suit

tanith Thu 11-Feb-16 10:48:18

The 14th would suit me better too.

Pittcity Thu 11-Feb-16 10:21:44

I am free on 14th but not 28th.

NanaandGrampy Thu 11-Feb-16 09:21:35

I can do either date :-)

Alea Thu 11-Feb-16 09:11:21

Not "found", GET" ROUND" <sigh at my typos>

Alea Thu 11-Feb-16 09:09:50

Tuesday? Can't do Tuesday's -ever-in fact most weekdays are a bit of a problem.
We had the first Birmingham one on a Saturday. Is that not a possibility? It would get found "granny duties" , after school childcare and other regular commitments as well as opening this up to working grans.

Teetime Thu 11-Feb-16 08:55:37

Any more for either of these two dates please? Anyone from HQ?

Charleygirl Tue 09-Feb-16 09:19:25

Either for me also

ninathenana Tue 09-Feb-16 09:17:46

date

ninathenana Tue 09-Feb-16 09:17:25

At the moment either sate suits me

Teetime Tue 09-Feb-16 08:59:21

OK lets try for dates first how about June 14th or June 28th - any takers?

alchemillamollis Mon 08-Feb-16 21:10:07

I'm definitely up for this. I'm in SW London, and anywhere is OK for me to get to. Other SW Londoners may be interested to know that there's a Merton meet-up happening soon - go to the Merton Local site and sign up if interested.

Pittcity I could be wrong but I doubt if we could book a room if we were not having eg lunch.

Pittcity Fri 05-Feb-16 15:00:04

Maybe somewhere where we could book a room for a larger number would be easier than a table in a cafe?

Elegran Fri 05-Feb-16 14:46:05

Teetime what I did was to ask everyone interested which dates they couldn't make, then cross all those off. Unfortunately I was then left with exactly none that were OK for everyone, so I had to put the dates where only one person would be disappointed into a hat (a pudding basin, actually) and pick one out.

Teetime Fri 05-Feb-16 14:31:28

What I will do is find 2 dates and see how many people respond then find a venue accordingly given the time and date in respect of being able to book a table etc. Probably difficult to suit everyone but I would have thought not in school holidays as grandparents may be on caring duties and everywhere will be busy.

ninathenana Fri 05-Feb-16 13:48:58

Just a thought, last time I was in the V&A café it was packed. If we're talking mid summer.......

Grannyknot Fri 05-Feb-16 13:26:25

Wow we're going to need a bigger table ... grin

Londongirl Fri 05-Feb-16 11:16:21

I live in NW London and work in central London so travelling isn't an issue for me.

Gunilla Fri 05-Feb-16 10:02:46

Yes,if Im around I too would love to come prefer a central location near to transport?

Pittcity Fri 05-Feb-16 09:53:22

I think the venue would depend on the number of people going.
Teetime will need to speak to Elegran for her planning tips.

Grannyknot Fri 05-Feb-16 09:34:00

I don't mind! We're spoilt for choice ... grin

NanaandGrampy Fri 05-Feb-16 09:24:49

The National Gallery do a wonderful tea:-) and the view is lovely !

Or any of the nice hotels ? I know we probably don't want to spend a fortune but tea at The Berkley ( near Harrods) is epic !!

Charleygirl Fri 05-Feb-16 09:12:58

Why not somewhere like John Lewis in Oxford Street?
