Thank you all for coming along. What a lovely little group of ladies. Looking forward to meeting you all again.

What a wonderful idea. I used to live in Milton, grew up in Cambridge, and would love to be able to meet up with a group like you. I was back in October for a quick visit. I live outside Boston MA. I love it here, but miss long time friends. We are getting older and some too sick to travel now, or busy looking after GC.

Hello, happydais. Do let us know if you are coming over for another visit so we could try and arrange another get together to suit. I live twenty minutes from Milton and spent three happy years at the agricultural/horticultural college there back in the nineties. It used to be the Francis Jeeps Farm Institute back in the day when DH was a farm manager.

Good pubs too. wink

Thank you I will. Not sure when that will be at the moment, but I will bear it in mind.

Have only just discovered this bit of GN! What a nice idea to have meet ups! I'm quite shy but would enjoy coming along if another one is planned.

Shall we plan a meet-up for the New Year? We spoke of the Botanic Gardens when we last met. Would people be happy with that, or is it too cold for January? Suggestions please, Ladies!

JackyB Tue 28-Nov-17 19:46:29

I've just returned from a weekend with my mother, and will no doubt be coming some time in January, so keeping tabs on this one.

downtoearth Tue 28-Nov-17 20:00:57

I am up for it again smile

Lindylou51 Mon 04-Dec-17 16:40:04

Me too.

merlotgran Mon 04-Dec-17 16:59:30

Yes, me too.

Towards the end of January will be better for me as we have quite a lot going on in the New Year.

NonnaW Mon 04-Dec-17 21:35:08

Count me in again, I enjoyed the last one.

showergelfresh Sun 07-Jan-18 22:59:36

Count me in too.
Botanical Gardens sounds a good place to meet especially in winter as there aren't so many tourists.

GrannyHaggis Thu 11-Jan-18 10:21:04

Would love to join you on your next meet-up. I live just outside Cambridge and can use public transport to get in.

jacalpad Wed 17-Jan-18 10:09:50

Hello everyone. I was not sure whether to start a new thread or carry on with this one, so here we go on the original one ......

Shall we arrange a new meet-up? If you would like to join in (the more the merrier), what day/s can you do?

Also, we mentioned the Botanic Garden on Hills Road (there is a second entrance in Trumpington Road) last time as a next meeting place. Is everyone happy with that or any other preference or suggestion?

Happy New Year All. cafe flowers

Lindylou51 Wed 17-Jan-18 16:44:28

I am happy with the Botanics. So far the only days I can't do are Fridays. Be nice to see everyone again and perhaps some new faces too.

NonnaW Wed 17-Jan-18 18:47:10

Tuesdays are out for me, otherwise I’m up for it. I’ve only been to the Botanic Garden once, so not sure how I’d get there. There’s no parking, is there?

GrannyHaggis Thu 18-Jan-18 17:58:56

At the moment I can't do Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday. The Trumpington P&R bus stops near the Botanic Gardens if that's any good to you NonnaW. Otherwise the nearest car park would be The Grand Arcade I think.

Would we have to pay to use the cafe at the Botanic Gardens or is it just if you're visiting the gardens that there's an entrance fee?

showergelfresh Thu 18-Jan-18 19:25:59

The nearest car park is at Newnham and you walk through across the river to the Botanics. - park and ride best though!
I can come any day given a couple of weeks notice and Botanics is a lovely place any season to walk round.
Thank you to our organizer!

downtoearth Thu 18-Jan-18 22:10:28

I am pretty much able to fit round most dates...Will see what dates are
Suggested and fit round them

merlotgran Thu 18-Jan-18 22:19:25

Same here. I'm hoping I will have shaken off this horrible virus by then - I think I'm winning.

Maranta Fri 19-Jan-18 15:27:57

I could do most days given sufficient warning.

You have to pay for entrance to the Botanic Gardens and obviously pay in the cafe too. The Babraham Road P&R stops at the train station and its a short walk to the Hills Road entrance.

Would it be better to do the Gardens later in the year?

Fitzwilliam Museum? Any other ideas anyone?
