Oldgoat is meeting me in Edinburgh on 11th August and we hope others will join us. Anyone interested?

there's still time to get here for next week gillybob...

Baggs Fri 11-Aug-17 18:52:58

I think our orders got forgotten about because we had a long wait for our main course. Not that we minded, blethering away as we were, and the food was good when it arrived. They gave us coffee for free at the end.

Lovely to see dunit, oldgoat and elegran again.

I'm sorry I'll miss the meetup next week. Have fun, folks!

Good to meet you dunit and to see elegran and baggs again yesterday. The longish wait for the food just gave us more time to chat and to enjoy the lovely view across to the castle. And the one o'clock gun only made us jump a bit!
Looks like you Scottish Grans are willing to travel a long way for a good blether. Hope to meet you all again soon.

The blether just picks up where it left off the last time! Oldgoat I have been photocopying today - looks as though I shall be doing it tomorrow too.

Have you started reading the journal yet, elegran ? I can't wait for the library to open on Monday so I can carry on the search. Exciting, isn't it?

Elegran Sat 12-Aug-17 21:49:28

I want to copy it first and read the copy so that I am not handling the exercise book too much, but I read bits as it emerges. They did a lot of travelling, and a fair bit of tramping up hills too. Everything seems to have been absolutely wonderful, stylish hotels, comfortable railway carriages (first class?) delicious meals, even sunshine!

I wanted to check the height of the hills they climbed to get an idea of how old , or fit, they were. I have some OS maps at home so I'll have a look at them tomorrow.

Nice to see you too oldgoat and Elegran as always along with Baggs lovely company. Very interesting hearing about and seeing your journal. I hope you have some success with your research. Just about to go into the back garden to see if I can see any 'shooting stars' that should be visible. It is a beautiful clear night. Look forward to another meetup in a year or so!!! Enjoy Wednesday.

Hope you saw the shooting stars dunit . I looked too but there are too many street lights near our house - and it was a bit cloudy, so no luck here.
