Marydoll I would travel by bus as there is no trainline in Kintyre. Bus to Glasgow and change buses (easily done) to complete the journey to Edinburgh.

Update...Macsporran and I will take the bus as mentioned. He will do some sightseeing and I shall join you lot We'll book into the ROSL or nearby Premier Inn and stay the night. Yay!!!

PS...MacSporran has suggested we book this after. It will be a belated birthday treat for him. I'm all of a dither.

Am most impressed that the Gp made an appt on my behalf, as I have been falling and also use walking sticks.
The doc did various manoeuvres with my hands, resulting in my being sick. he must have been a rugby player, as he managed to grab the waste paper basket ino which I deposited my morning orange.

I am so impressed with the treatment and time they take, from appointment to the Western General 6 days, and sympathetic Drs and Nurse. Next step physio, so taking things as they come..

Also I am lucky to have an empathetic GP, female, Onwards and upwards

Tho I find winter depressing and have escaped in the past , by going to the sun, when the kids were older of course.

I survived last winter , the previous 15 we escaped to S India!

Elegran please may I join the Edinburgh bash? Marydoll has convinced me of the fun in store, so I'm looking forward to meeting you all. So many familiar names: I rarely join in( except the games) but I read all the threads avidly! It will be lovely to see how you match up to my mind pictures

CALLGIRL I often travel from Edinburgh to Devon by train and with judicious planning, usually through Trainline, can usually get a very reasonable fare- try it! Sorry I won't be with you. I shall miss our get togethers but hope to be back for a visit one day. (Moving next week)

No, soop nothing until the day. callghirl often it is cheaper to fly than to get the train, if you live near enough to an airport. It is worth checking.

Elegran, I`d be too scared to fly on my own, even the train makes me quake at the idea of the distance. Anyway the nearest airport is an hour and a half drive away, and someone would have to take me and collect me on return.

I’m so sad to be missing this.

Definitely need to have another in the New Year. A Monday or a Friday pretty please. (Or a weekend).
